Along the way we were pulled into people's houses for beer, food, and relief from the sun. We were something of celebrities and the people were incredibly generous. I read there were many waterfalls and I LOVE waterfalls. Can you find the waterfall? We didn't think there would be soooo much snow. The leaves had yet to bloom but it was still beautiful. Living in rural Japan.always interesting! Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Ultimate frisbee was a mystery to me though I had a lot of friends who played. Thanks to Jon in Niigata city I now understand the game. He organized a get together once a month and I was able to make a few of them. They were a great time to get together with people and get some exercise though I don' t really have the stamina for the constant running of the game. Maybe I will find a team in Canada! Living in rural Japan.always interesting! Saturday, July 11, 2009. Futoshi, Ruu and I stopped at the local Kanbara festival before heading over to Northern Lights to celebrate Canada Day. Ruu is taking her chances at the games. She won some "nasty gum" according to Misael. Eatin some potato mochi. The party was on Saturday but I was on Sado and it wasn't Canada Day. The true red blooded came out on the true Canada Day! I had some extra tattoos that I gave to Ruu and Futoshi! Drinking whiskey sour shots!

Ironically, and quite strangely, my mother is currently touring around japan.originally she was going to come and see me in niigata but she was in tokyo yesterday and travels to kyoto soon.incredibly strange to think that she'll be visiting places i did just a few weeks ago. So im sat in a pub (a real pub, not a fancy schmancy bar) with a pint of real beer, sat next to Tami, watching sheffield united on a wide screen tv, and it hits me.hang on.how the hell did i get here? Queue wobbly screen and flashback mode. Monday, July 30, 2007. In our new found sense of tourism, myself, emma, neil and morten decided to take the 4 hour train ride to Gothenburg in Sweden. Gothenburg is the second largest city in sweden with half a million people, behind the capital Stockholm. It is a beautiful place, but i think i prefer oslo more.
