Notes from the Outpost: Ms Communication
http://jerrydecapua.blogspot.com/2009/01/ms-communication.html
Notes from the Outpost. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Today is my birthday. Most likely, it's the last birthday I ever have. No, I'm not planning to do something rash. I'm not dying of cancer, either. My birthday is a time of reflection about the past year. What were my mistakes? What can I do better this year? For another writing gig, write an email to someone I worked with 20 years ago on the same subject and talk to a technician about servicing some fuel injectors. By this time, my wife comes home with a...

Notes from the Outpost: Living the Dream I
http://jerrydecapua.blogspot.com/2009/02/living-dream-i.html
Notes from the Outpost. Saturday, February 7, 2009. Living the Dream I. Right now, I am waist deep in a job search I am reluctant to write about for some reason. Until I get over myself, let's hear from my brother Ed who turned 50 a couple of months ago. Without further ado or obnoxious comment, here's my brother Ed. If today is the worst day (weather-wise), it is gonna be a great week! I was drafted to play on the team that will be managed by "Spaceman" Bill Lee. I was told he drafted me late in the...

Notes from the Outpost. Thursday, October 30, 2008. I now pronounce you Husband and.uh.The Other Guy.". Here in beautiful sun-stroked California, voters go to the polls on Tuesday and decide on the fate of gay marriage. If enacted, Proposition 8 prohibits same-sex unions, making it confusing for either side because voters supporting same-sex unions must vote "no" while opponents need to mark the "yes" box. Since the founding of our country, each state makes its own marriage laws. Interesting how conserva...

Notes from the Outpost. Saturday, February 7, 2009. Living The Dream V. Day 5 of my brother Ed's trip to Red Sox Fantasy Camp. Despite a bad hamstring and a sprained right finger on his throwing hand, Ed's bat is on fire and he's pitching effectively without his middle finger touching the ball. Here's more from Ed:. Then 10 minutes on the stationary bike. After breakfast and a lot of stretching from the trainer, back, biceps, shoulder, a wrapped hamstring and bandaged finger we had our last clubhouse...

Reflections on the vast world of multiculturalism in Connecticut. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. The Shubert open its doors. Ok, ok, I know it has been awhile since my last post, but here I am, ready to share some thoughts with you. Once inside the venue, the artists rocked the house. I would have never imagined to see so much energy in the stage. Big beats, ranchera samplers and Puerto Rican laud guitar, emerged from the stage at the Shubert to a audience ready to dance, party and have a great time.

Reflections on the vast world of multiculturalism in Connecticut. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Indian food: "You are not Mexican". I have never been a fan of spicy food. There is a misconception that all Hispanics like to eat chiles. That is not right. The chile and jalapeno come from Mexico, but in many countries of South America these products do not grow, or if they do, do not have the power and taste of their Mexican counterparts. Are you ready to order? He said, with a big smile behind his moustache.

Recent college grad Nancy Hall talks about new experiences, a new location, and a new life. As of next week, I'll be at my new apartment for 2 months and still have yet to put stuff up on my walls. In the lyrics of a. Motivation, such an aggravation.". I will probably reference many song lyrics in blogs to come, just to give a head's up.). The sixth and final installment by my brother Ed as he reports on his experience at the Boston Red Sox Fantasy Camp in City of Palms, Florida.
