My brother and his wife and two young daughters drove from near Spokane, WA to meet me at the end of my ride. http://jeffridesforcancer.blogspot.com/2011/07/july-6-3200-miles-pedaled.html

Jeff Rides for Cancer. Support my LiveStrong Goal! Wednesday, July 6, 2011. July 6 : 3200 miles pedaled! I started out this morning knowing the toughest part of the day was the beginning. A good climb right at the outset. It took about an hour - a 10 mile ride that took me up about 2500 ft. T omorrow's ride will be up and down and up and down.but the sun has been shining and today got up to about 85 degrees. My odometer tonight: 3202 miles! What lay ahead of me this morning. Old gold panning operation.

http://jeffridesforcancer.blogspot.com/2011/07/oregon.html

Jeff Rides for Cancer. Support my LiveStrong Goal! Wednesday, July 13, 2011. I crossed into Oregon yesterday! Last 2 days ride has been very hot, hilly and not particulaly easy. Lack of phone service for most of Idaho made keeping in touch difficult. I passed a huge swarm of monarch butterfield too.they were everywhere, including stick inside my biking helmet. There was a nice article about my ride in a local Montana paper. You can see it here:. From here on out, I believe it will be shorter days of ridi...

http://www.gonnaridemybike.com/2011/07/day-66-living-by-principles

8230;until I get home! Jul 11, 2011. Day 66 – Living by principles. Its not all plain sailing. This morning was bleugh! But check out Mt Hood in the distance! Fortunately it often doesn’t take much to improve the situation. We stopped at a gas station and thanks to a bathroom break, some Chex Mix (love that stuff! Some good banter with Matt and Pat, and the sun coming out, when we rode off I was ‘back in the game’ and the rest of the days ride passed much more easily. 4000 miles in and our first tunnel.

8230;until I get home! Jul 7, 2011. Day 62 – A River Runs Through It. What can i say? Today was beautiful. 90 miles downhill along the gorgeous Lochsa River valley. Warm sun, no wind. Idyllic. There’s just enough time to pull over off the road to avoid being blown off the road as it passes. One of the pack-bridges along the way. Nope - this wasnt part of the route. Bridges are ace. Fact. Would love to kayak down here sometime. Correcting the cycle-photos to food-photos ratio). Matt leads the way. Took a ...

Retrospection | Gonna Ride My Bike

8230;until I get home! Jul 29, 2011. It is pretty much impossible to sum up the 69 days we spent cycling across America. There is no way to suitably convey the range of feelings and thoughts I have about our trip now that its over. But here’s a few random pieces of my mind. I was quite worried before starting this ride that I would end up not enjoying it, that my sabbatical would have been wasted and I’d regret the whole thing. I’m greatly relieved and a little bit proud to say that I. The worst that can...

Gonna Ride My Bike | ...until I get home!

http://www.gonnaridemybike.com/page/4

8230;until I get home! Jul 2, 2011. Day 57 – The Path To Wisdom. One of the best things about staying in a home overnight is getting a proper breakfast in the morning. I actually quite like my standard of a couple of cold pop-tarts and a granola bar but you can’t beat a big bowl of cereal, coffee and some toast for a good start to the morning. We thanked George (Mary Jo was still in bed – lucky thing! And set off again. This is not how to rehydrate! I just had to have some fried grease with my salad.
