But first, on our way to the garden, we stopped in at the Vivarium. A herpetological research and education center. Basically a snake and reptile house. It was cool, though small, but we did get to hold a Boa Constrictor, which made it well worth the $3 entrance fee! From there we headed off to the Botanical Gardens of Quito. One of the 2 huge orchid greenhouses.

We went to the Mindo Cloud forest this weekend to get out of Quito for a while. It was beautiful and incredibly relaxing and an easy 2 hour bus ride out of the city. We WILL be going back again!
