Please To Bicycle: August 2009
http://please-to-bicycle.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 10, 2009. Critical Mass: A first and second meeting. I forgot to mention this the other day (by which I mean, like, last week - and actually, I don't mean forgot, but more like, didn't have time), BUT I had my first two run-ins with Critical Mass, both pretty.negative? I never really had a lot of love for the concept. Sure, people will notice you if you block up the roads and ride around as a big pack, but they will also get pissed. Hell, I wasn't even in a car and I got pissed. Obviously,...

Pedal or Die: March 2008
http://pedalordie.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Rants, raves, and inspirations from a recovering fat guy inspired by his wife, led by God, and given a new life through a bicycle. Monday, March 31, 2008. So, why am I writing to tell you this? I increased my average speed by almost 2mph from last month's TT. And today.my legs hurt. I think the price was right. Foo Fighters and Rush. According to the Sun Media, RUSH singer-bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson surprised the crowd by showing up about an hour into the FOO FIGHTERS' two-hour-and-10-m...

Pedal or Die: July 2008
http://pedalordie.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Rants, raves, and inspirations from a recovering fat guy inspired by his wife, led by God, and given a new life through a bicycle. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Putting in the Miles. My legs really seem to be coming back around. I was a little worried early on, but the miles seem to be healing the time off the bike. I'm sticking to my schedule of ride hard, recover on bike, and rest. It's working well thus far, but there are a lot of miles left to go. Monday, July 28, 2008. What are you waiting for? Everyone...

Musings of a Cyclotic: October 2007
http://cyclotic.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Musings of a Cyclotic. Thursday, October 18, 2007. What A Difference A Day Makes! Good news - I'm back in the game - on this morning's ride with one of my biking buddies, Ed, I did the Hwy 9 climb in 48:05 - about 4:20 faster than just a few days ago (when I did 52:25) - Wooohooo! Interestingly, my average heartrate was identical on both climbs - 153 bpm! And when I did that PB ride in April, I weighed 11 pounds less than today - according to Joe Friel, that ll pounds (5 kg) is worth 15 seconds per kilom...

Musings of a Cyclotic: December 2012
http://cyclotic.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Musings of a Cyclotic. Monday, December 31, 2012. 2012 End with a Breakthrough Ride! It was great biking weather (well, great from my perspective! Cool and sunny - it was around 50 degrees out, with just a slight wind blowing. Mike and I just tooled along, heading down the familiar path through Santa Cruz to get over to Capitola Beach via East Cliff Drive - a wonderful scenic ride for cyclists! In fact, that is exactly what we did - we got to Capitola Beach in just 55 minutes - woohoo! I just know that 2...

Your lifestyle and goals are very important to me. I believe coach and athlete must have mutual trust and confidence to communicate often and freely in support of reaching and CRUSHING your goals! Lick for more information. There are many aspects of coaching that are often overlooked. I think of a coach as being a mentor. This includes helping in the areas of training, nutrition, race preparation, strength and resistance training, mental preparation and injury prevention. Lick for more information. Membe...

Musings of a Cyclotic: November 2007
http://cyclotic.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Musings of a Cyclotic. Friday, November 30, 2007. So What's The Big Deal About Losing A Pound Or Two? I saw that my friend, Dennis Pederson, created a recent blog entry about his cycling goals for 2008 (you can read all about it right here. So, I did some calculations of my own, and sent him a little note about it:. You said you believe your FTP power is 265 watts - that might be correct, but using your 19:50 time on OLH, I came up with this value: 260.6 watts (I'll explain how shortly). So I decided to ...

Musings of a Cyclotic: Did I Just Do A Century Ride Today?
http://cyclotic.blogspot.com/2010/12/did-i-just-do-century-ride-today.html
Musings of a Cyclotic. Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Did I Just Do A Century Ride Today? Nope It just FELT like a century ride, unfortunately - my first ride in a long, long time. Too long, as it turns out. I thought that getting onto the Comeback Trail would be tough - but it's going to be even tougher, as I found out today. The ACTUAL ride was only about 30 minutes long - and wasn't even 10 miles long (more like 6.5 miles) - and it wasn't even hilly - it was FLAT! And I still died. :(. Different display...

Musings of a Cyclotic: Where Have I Been The Last 23 Months?
http://cyclotic.blogspot.com/2012/12/where-have-i-been-last-23-months.html
Musings of a Cyclotic. Friday, December 21, 2012. Where Have I Been The Last 23 Months? Well, it's been awhile! And I just looked at this blog, noticing that my last post was way back in early December, 2010. But that is not the last time I rode my bike! In fact, I did some on-and-off riding for a couple of months after that month - up to mid February, 2011. So, I decided to go visit my regular doctor - and during my routine checkup, he said he detected a very faint, yet distinctive, heart murmur. One wa...

Musings of a Cyclotic: Looking Forward to 2013 !!!
http://cyclotic.blogspot.com/2012/12/looking-forward-to-2013.html
Musings of a Cyclotic. Sunday, December 30, 2012. Looking Forward to 2013! Well, it's been an interesting year, 2012 - got myself a fixed-up heart and I'm feeling pretty good these days - need to still lose a few pounds (well, maybe more than just a few) - but since I started riding again on November 3 (about 2 months after my heart surgery I had on September 10), I've done about 14 rides - only half the number I wanted to do - but hey! It's a start, anyway. :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). If you...
