There are lots and lots of restaurants in Cusco, and we tried Peruvian Chinese for the first time over the weekend - it was delicious. In the centre, there are lots of places aimed at tourists, and the English pub even sells roast dinner. One place does amazing nachos. Wednesday, 21 September 2011. The Remarkable Recovery of Sophia. http://theropersinperu.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
The Ropers in Peru. A record of our big adventure to Peru. Tuesday, 17 April 2012. We have now completed our link up visits with a trip to the churches in Birmingham. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon, and had a great evening chatting with Paul and Francis Campion as well as putting together our final preparations for the following day. After the service we had lunch with the Campions and the children enjoyed playing in the garden, even enjoying a spot of croquet in the sunshine. On the Monday morning...

the Ropers in Peru: March 2012
http://theropersinperu.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
The Ropers in Peru. A record of our big adventure to Peru. Monday, 12 March 2012. After just over 2 months back in the UK, life has not only settled back into a routine but we can see where we are going - at least in the short term! November 2011 - we realise sadly that we are probably going to return to the UK earlier than we planned. We start thinking about the next step, feeling a bit lost and confused. After sending out a couple of emails to some contacts, I am offered a placement without interview.

The Ropers in Peru. A record of our big adventure to Peru. Monday, 25 July 2011. Preparing for youth camp. I am off to a youth camp on Wednesday with the entire youth group (3 young people, but small is very beautiful.) I am very excited about it. I bumped into one of the organisers and he warned me to make sure everyone had old clothes as there is a very messy and muddy activity planned - sounds fun. Saturday, 23 July 2011. There is a vacant flat with unpaid bills, but not us. Sunday, 17 July 2011.

the Ropers in Peru: June 2011
http://theropersinperu.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
The Ropers in Peru. A record of our big adventure to Peru. Friday, 24 June 2011. As the Inka passed, the crowd cheered - with people from all over the world looking on, but more significantly along side lots of Cusquenans. As the ceremony drew to a close, the real live mummy appeared, and then the action moved to Saqsaywaman, the Inka ruins which look down upon Cusco. We managed (accidentally)to take a scenic route back to the road, scrambling down rocks and soaking in the atmosphere and sights. We r...

http://theropersinperu.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
The Ropers in Peru. A record of our big adventure to Peru. Wednesday, 24 August 2011. A day in the life. Bad news: An early morning phone call to the DVLA confirms that I can't register to update my photo for the driving licence as I am living in Peru, and to do so would be illegal. In 2 weeks my drivers licence is out of date. Attempts to get the children to school and the house sorted leaves me a bit late for language (and slightly grumpy). Good news: It is our final day at Language School! Good news: ...
