North Carolina General Statute 105-286 requires that all counties conduct a reappraisal of real property at least every eight years. This statute also allows for the advancement or shortening of the revaluation cycle. Jones County is on an eight-year revaluation cycle. The next revaluation is currently scheduled for January 1, 2022.

The Jones County Tax Administration Department is comprised of five sections:. The Real Property Section. Appraises and assesses all real property in the county at its fair market value as of the effective date of the most recent reappraisal. The Personal Property Section. Is responsible for the listing and auditing of personal property as well as sending out the annual tax bills and the monthly vehicle bills. The Tax Collectors Section.
