Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience. Monday, August 10, 2009. Our last week in Europe. Last week we took our final trip, this time to a week-long Christian conference ("New Wine") in Shepton Mallet, England. We camped with several other people from our church (and a few thousand people from other churches) and attended daily worship and seminars. It was a great way to end our time in Europe. Here are some of our church group hanging out at the campsite:. Josh and Christine Engelbrecht. After we were al...

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience: December 2008

http://joshandchristinesdutchexperience.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience. Friday, December 19, 2008. Christmas lights in Deurne. One thing we love about Deurne is that it’s surrounded by agriculture. We only have to bike five minutes to get to farmland, and in the cool evening or morning air we can smell the pig farms. It’s a lot like Iowa! The tour starts outside of town with a traffic sign warning motorists to watch out for babies in mangers. Then there is a “kerststal” (nativity scene) in a shed. But it’s hard to beat a farrowing...

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience: February 2009

http://joshandchristinesdutchexperience.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Carnival itself began in Deurne on Saturday, with a celebration in the central market square. The city hall was decorated with seven banners, representing the city and the six villages or neighborhoods within the city jurisdiction. I was impressed that one prince played his trumpet to lead his own band. I suppose he likes to multi-task. After all seven keys had been handed out, the Prince of De Peelstrekers led the entire crowd in a conga...

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience: September 2008

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Adventures with Dad Engelbrecht, Part 3 – Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic. We set off for another week-long tour on September 6, this time heading east. First we visited Gluckstadt, the German town from which Josh’s great-great-great grandfather (Joachim Engelbrecht) emigrated. Here are Josh and his Dad in Gluckstadt:. The most fun part of Hamburg was the open-air fish market, where merchants sell fresh fish, produce, and souvenirs e...

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience: July 2009

http://joshandchristinesdutchexperience.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience. Monday, July 27, 2009. Scandinavia in a week. We started by flying to Sandefjord and renting a car to drive through fjords in the western part of Norway. We spent our first two days seeing fjord after fjord. Behind the fjords, the terrain was mountainous and rocky. There was snow even in July. We took ferries to get across the fjords where there were no bridges. And we took a sightseeing boat that sailed through some of the most beautiful fjords. One part of Copenha...

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience: June 2008

http://joshandchristinesdutchexperience.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Josh and Christine's Dutch Experience. Saturday, June 28, 2008. A trip to Bastogne, Belgium. Here we are in front of a tank in Bastogne's centrum. A large memorial in the shape of a star lists all 50 states around its perimeter, in honor of the Americans who died in battle. You can climb to the top of the memorial for a good view of Bastogne (on the right) and a big gravel pit (on the left). Here, three John Deere engineers assess a tank turret and contemplate using similar technology on their new sprayer.

Josh and Christina

Wednesday, May 09, 2012. Saturday, April 21, 2012. We've had a fun week full of activities to celebrate Earth Week! Here are a few of the projects we've been working on. Butterflies made from coffee filters:. We don't use these coffee filters anymore since we have a Keurig, so this was a good way to make use of them. I wish I could have gotten a picture of Wren's face when we hung them on her art wall. She was sooooo proud of herself! Earth Day Coloring Pages:. This turned out so cute! Today we went to I...

Joy in the Journey

Joy in the Journey. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126:3. Saturday, May 31, 2014. The Dalton family headed to good ole Parsons, Kansas for the annual Katy Days celebration with my parents. The girls had a great time at the petting zoo and riding the train! Me and My girl. And everyone enjoyed watching the parade. And the girls and I had a great time in St. Louis with Dena. We visited the zoo and the Magic House Children's Museum while we were there.

Josh and Christina *. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. A lot has happened! Looking back on my blog posts I realize how much I love the documentation of our lives, but then I look at the last entry and it's from Sept of 2013 or something like that. It's now 2015. A lot has happened since then! I graduated nursing school and have been working as a nurse for a year now. It was a hard adjustment-a HUGE learning curve. Now that I somewhat know what I'm doing, I do like it. on most days. :). It was the best!

An Ordinary Day

July 31, 2015. The Art of Non-Conformity. What are my other goals and dreams? It is safe to say that The Art of Non-Conformity has made me take another look at my life. There is always going to be room for personal improvement and stepping outside of the box a bit more. Though for now, I can honestly say that I am at least "90 percent happy". 0 comments from people we love. March 1, 2014. From the Valley to the Pinnacle. 3- I need practice. This practice is what I need for the endurance to make it to...

Josh and Cindy Edwards

Josh and Cindy Edwards. Saturday, March 23, 2013. My siblings and I decided to take our kids to the Easter Egg Hunt at the Rec Center. Sadly, it was THE most GHETTO Easter Egg Hunt I have ever seen. And they made us pay them $1.00 per kid! We decided to have our own little Easter Egg Hunt at my sister Wendy's house so that's just what we did! After eating lunch at Joy Luck for my brother's birthday, Happy Birthday Handsome! We went and got some candy for the hunt! Let the race begin! Look at him go!

Josh + Clare's Travel Blog

Josh Clare's Travel Blog. Monday, 23 May 2011. Entry No.20 by Josh. You pay per hour of being there and you can have unlimited drinks so we stayed for only one hour but got our money worth as Clare had 3 beers and I had 4. So the following day we made our way to the airport (again, with a hangover.cheap Filipino beer) and went back to Kuala Lumpur, sad to be leaving one of our favourite countries of our trip. Thursday, 5 May 2011. Entry No.19 by Clare. We met a nice Filipino girl called Donna who told us...
