Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Work In Progress - Toucan by JR Hawse. I spent this weekend at the Mill Creek Arts Fair displaying paintings and working on the toucan. If you have ever painted outside with acrylic paints, you can understand that one needs to work quickly. I found it a lot of fun to paint during the fair.I had a lot of onlookers. Sometimes I would ask them to add their own touches or give color advice. Many of them came back several times to see how the painting was coming. Just a new painting.

It was the second piece I did, inspired by the early medieval Spanish Apocalyptic Manuscripts. It's 60X36 and I love the bold colors and line. I really feel rejuvenated working in this style.
