Falls Park (Greenville, South Carolina). FALLS PARK ON THE REEDY,. In downtown Greenville, South Carolina, is a nature lover's paradise! There are beautiful, flower and tree-lined walking trails, magnificent waterfalls, and the spectacular Liberty Bridge. Click on photos to enlarge.). There were beautiful flowers all over the park! There is something interesting I noticed about South Carolina in July - They have bugs bigger than the average dog! There's a brown bug in there! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Long Key State Park (Florida Keys). This is an amazing state park. It is a birdwatcher's dream. The entire park runs along the coastline - it is beautiful. Sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. And, the park people who run it do a very good job; they run a tight ship and it shows. Everything from the campsites to the restrooms are immaculate. Nice job the Florida State Park people do! An awesome little hawk. I was surprised he didn't fly away. A magnificent frigate bird (female). Oh, YEAH, life is good.

Temple of Sinawava - ZION NATIONAL PARK (05/2011). This is a magnificent stroll for about a mile or so down the Virgin River in Zion National Park. The hike takes you to the Narrows, which, unfortunately, were closed because the river was too high and the current was too swift. Click on photos to enlarge.). The spring flowers are starting to come out. Me never missing a photo op! This was a little deer looking for something to eat. She didn't seem to mind all the people taking her photo! And, so do I!

The town and decided to stop - I'm glad I did. This is the cave. You could go into it, but I opted not to. Interestingly, when you walked up to the opening, very very cold. Air was coming out of the cave. And, it wasn't a cold day. Click on any photo to enlarge.] Post by. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My other nature blogs:.

Wekiwa Springs State Park (Florida). Is a beautiful state park with something for everyone! Enjoy the more than 13 miles of shady hiking trails, or canoe or kayak along the Wekiva River and Rock Springs Run. There’s also a cool 72 degree natural spring that you can swim in (the water is crystal clear! It’s a great place for kids to run around or to have a nice picnic. Lots of squirrels. There are fox squirrels in this state park,. But, unfortunately, I didn't see any this day. A couple of tortoises.

Julie's State Parks: Dead Horse Point State Park (Utah)
http://juliesstateparks.blogspot.com/2014/11/dead-horse-point-state-park-utah.html
Dead Horse Point State Park (Utah). This State Park is on the way to Canyonlands National Park. I made a quick stop here, but really didn't have enough time. It is a BEAUTIFUL state park with amazing views. The above pic is a picnic shelter. The below shelter is some MUCH needed shade and surrounds the view area (great idea). It was 100 degrees here today, with very little shade. So, that shelter was a beautiful sight! I don't know how these pretty flowers survive in this heat! My other nature blogs:.

Julie's National Parks: November 2014

Bristlecone Pine Trees at Cedar Breaks (Utah). I thought that I was a seasoned hiker (I am not), and that I could easily do a strenuous hike uphill to 10,000 feet (I was unqualified! This is a beautiful hike at Cedar Breaks National Monument. The trail is a mile up and a mile back. That seems easy enough, but it is all uphill and with the altitude I am not used to, I pretty-much gasped for air the entire time (I quickly learned how out of shape I was). But, it was very much. Up, up, uphill! Finally, I re...

St Marks National Wildlife Refuge (01/2014). I was in the Florida panhandle to see. Bring juvenile whooping cranes to Florida where they will spend the winter at the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. My car has a little snow thingy to let me know it is COLD outside! I don't see it too often! The ground was COVERED in snow! Unfortunately, the cranes were a little cranky this Saturday morning and didn't want to fly (hey, I was cranky too getting up so early on a cold morning! There's no bad view here.

Julie's National Parks: Rocky Mountain National Park (Part II)
http://juliesnationalparks.blogspot.com/2015/07/rocky-mountain-national-park.html
Rocky Mountain National Park (Part II). This is also an amazing place for wildlife. You see huge bull elk as soon as you go in. We saw several moose, many different varieties of birds, and some marmots. As soon as you hit the road to the national park, you get this view! So beautiful, and the farther you go towards the park, the prettier it gets! After walking away from the moose, I saw this elk go by. I figured that she would distract the moose and he would get up. When wild animals kill! This poor elk,...
