Sweat Like A Pig: December 2011
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Saturday, December 31, 2011. 2011: The Year In Pictures. I logged a total 1,932 miles in 2011. (That's over 500 miles more than I ran in 2010! And every one of those 1,932 miles had a purpose. Some of the miles were fast, many of them were slow. Some of them were race miles, most of them were training miles. Some of them were logged on my own, and some of them were logged with friends. But every mile made me a stronger runner in some way. We also ate a lot of cupcakes. In the st...

http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2013/04/marathon-panic-attack-threat-level-red.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Marathon Panic Attack Threat Level: Red. The marathon is three days away. THREE DAYS! Do you know what this means? It means I can focus on nothing but marathon preparations: planning my marathon gear, checking marathon day weather, planning pre-marathon food, planning mid-marathon food, remembering to bring my shoes. Deep, cleansing breaths. Brief moment of calm clarity. CODE RED, PEOPLE! Out of my way! I have to pack my shoes before I forget them!

Sweat Like A Pig: February 2013
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Thursday, February 28, 2013. I Get Knocked Down, But I Get Up Again. Today, I present you with a list of things I have learned and experienced in my first 6 weeks of training for the Illinois Marathon. I will even bullet this list to make it seem important. Things almost never go according to plan. I did not include a "Flu Week" in my original training plan. I was made painfully aware of this oversight. The flu vaccine is less than 50% effective at preventing flu this season.

Sweat Like A Pig: November 2012
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Monday, November 5, 2012. And I'm still running! I just have one wicked case of writer's block. It started in August, when I wanted to blog about my experience at the Madison Mini-Marathon, but the words just wouldn't flow. And then it snowballed with each subsequent event I participated in, because it became increasingly challenging write about multiple events in a single post without it turning into a thesis-length report that would bore everyone to tears. PW'd (that's "person...

Sweat Like A Pig: February 2014
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. From Nightmarathons to Nightmarriages. That's kind of a big deal, I guess. So really, I guess my main excuse for not blogging has been laziness. Oops. *looks ashamed*. To be fair, Naperville wasn't my best marathon (4:11 - not bad, either), but I had a lot of fun with it. Well, except for the hills and the wind. The huge hills and relentless wind. Who knew Naperville had so many freakin' hills? I think not. Weddings and marathons, though very di...

Sweat Like A Pig: January 2013
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Monday, January 28, 2013. Confessions of a Delinquent Blogger. Forgive me Michele, for I have blog-sinned. It has been 84 days since my last blog post. My dear friend, and only blog fan Michele (who tries to cheat in 5k races), pointed out to me today that I haven't updated my blog in, like, forever. So I am here to rectify that, and keep Michele from crying over my lack of blog posts. Well, I guess I can talk about my future running plans. I am registered for the Illinois Marat...

Sweat Like A Pig: May 2013
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Gather round, kids, and let me tell you all a little story about the importance of not being greedy. Once upon a time. In a land far, far away, there lived a fair maiden who loved to run. She trained hard for a big marathon, logging over 550 miles over the course of her 14 week training plan. She felt confident of her ability to run a sub-4:00 marathon, something she had done only once before. The fair maiden's gourmet pasta feed. Yum-o. The maiden and he...

About The Mad Marathoner. Monday, January 30, 2012. Kickin' Ice at Icebreaker 2012. Hard to believe it's already been a year since I ran the Icebreaker Indoor Marathon. As you may recall, it was the most fun I've ever had running around in circles. I know what you're thinking:. What could possibly be more fun than running around in circles for 26.2 miles? The answer is simple, my friends: Running around in circles for 26.2 miles as part of a team. In the weeks leading up to the race, every time I or one ...

Sweat Like A Pig: The Madison Mini-Marathon: How Walmart Saved My Ass
http://sweatlikeapig.blogspot.com/2011/08/madison-mini-marathon-how-walmart-saved.html
About The Mad Marathoner. Monday, August 22, 2011. The Madison Mini-Marathon: How Walmart Saved My Ass. There is nothing quite like a fun and relaxing girls' weekend. Which is why I was really looking forward to my Madison Mini-Marathon weekend with fellow FASTies Kristi and Becky. We were going to run a half-marathon at a relaxed pace, and then spend the rest of the weekend hanging out, chillin', eating good food, and drinking tasty beverages. It was going to be a perfect weekend away. Or so I thought.
