If I ever write a real book, someone please remind me to set a deadline. Someone else, please remind me that I'll probably finish the book two years after the deadline. The reason the vehicle had been there for so long: The driver put the wrong kind of fuel in the tank. On the way to Manila, I make the biggest mistake of the trip. As...

Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. The Philippines - Chapter Four - A Dead Sheep, a Monkey, and a Sunset. In the morning, Aris picks me up and we head to his home, where breakfast is served. Spam, eggs, fish, rice, and my new best friend Milo. One interesting thing about traveling to places where friends call home is that I get a look at their day-to-day lives. After breakfast, Aristotle takes me to a different piece of land he manages. Awesome sculptures on the cross. We're off aga...

Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Ahn nyeong ha seh yo - Hi! On Monday of this week, the school term ended. Which meant that a two day term break followed. So the work week looks like this:. Friday: Class, day ends at 11am. A bit random, especially considering that there's a four day weekend around the corner, but hey.a break is a break. When we arrived at the palace, we noticed a large, golden Buddha statue. We decided that would be our next destination. Then, we climbed stairs.

Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad: December 2014
https://meehanguk.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad. Sunday, December 21, 2014. The Man Who Escaped from Camp 14. Okay, first off, I acknowledge that I've experienced Thanksgiving in Korea, and I'm about to experience my first Christmas in Korea. I have intentions to blog about all that (we'll see what becomes of these intentions). :). This weekend, I thought I'd write about something quite different. Well, Shin came to Seoul for an open discussion this past weekend. We then watched a documentary based on the book. He must be t...

https://meehanguk.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad. Friday, February 21, 2014. I've been in Korea for about 4 days, so I'm almost fluent in Korean. Until I get to that point, moments like these will continue to happen:. Here I am, reenacting a real-life situation wherein I ask a HomePlus (akin to Walmart) employee where to find some garbage bags. Then I tried looking for contact lens solution. This time was more successful. Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Fly like paper getting’ high like planes. Now, you may be thinking, “G...

Here's a sampling. Thanks, columbian.com. Bob, an older man who works every day (except for holidays) once said, when we were talking about regrets: "My biggest regret in life is that I got married.". So now I tell single people: DON'T GET MARRIED! Thanks, medwow.com. Thanks, mrbeanwikia.com. Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad: Update
https://meehanguk.blogspot.com/2015/07/update.html
Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. I'm four months into a new job. I figured I'd give an update since I have. A lot of downtime for the next week or so. In a previous post. I figured I'd write about what my experience in public school has been like so far. In retrospect, these were very small issues. In fact, considering how I feel about this job, they now feel like non-issues. At my last job, I needed to be at school by 7:00am, and I'd teach straight through 11:00am. After that, I...

Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Brad. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Yes, almost 3 months have elapsed since this trip. If this surprises you, then you must be a new reader. If so, welcome. :). My friend Stori and I went to the magical land of Kyoto, Japan, over Lunar New Year. After a relatively painless flight, we made our way to a small guesthouse on the outskirts of Osaka. The highlight of this guesthouse? Kimonos, samurai swords, and the elderly owner who insists that the guests model them. It took three (maybe two?
