The Project

So, the project is to build a house, right? Well, it didn't start out that way. Originally, we were looking for a house to buy and move into. And we spent a long time looking, too. It was only after we'd looked at a lot. There were a lot of people involved in the process, too:. Our banks. Yes, plural. There's the bank we do business with day to day, the bank that loaned us the money for the land, and the lender for our construction loan/mortgage. Our builder, Luxor Homes.

Timeline entries prior to breaking ground are archived here. Excavation sub begins clearing and putting in erosion controls. While Vicki is at Costume-Con, I go out to the site and take photos. I get my first feel for how large a house we're really building when I realize that a backhoe parked at one end of the clearing is a very large backhoe, but it's dwarfed by the cleared area. 3750 ft. Isn't small, but now I know just how large it is. Ground is broken. We'll shortly own a huge pit, where Luxor.
