A chronicle of my experiences and thoughts as a student, Peace Corps Volunteer, and interested human being. Sunday, January 16, 2011. Late August, early September. Thank you for your patience. First I got behind because I was busy, and then I became overwhelmed at the amount of things I had to chronicle, and there you have it: five months explained. If you’ll indulge me, I’ll give a much better explanation (or at least a summary) in the following. Where’s your man? 8221; This isn’t maliciously mean...

A chronicle of my experiences and thoughts as a student, Peace Corps Volunteer, and interested human being. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Help find Linnea Lomax. Yes, I've been back for a while, and I really will update again about life.but right now there's something more important. Linnea Lomax is like family to someone who is like family to me, and she's gone missing. Her parents have an open letter. They're asking people to post and re-post, and there's a website. For anyone who wants more information.

A chronicle of my experiences and thoughts as a student, Peace Corps Volunteer, and interested human being. Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Balancing (a diatribe on sexism, with a side of humor). First of all, thanks to Six Senses Resorts and Spas. For funding my well project in full. I really appreciate it, and so does my village. It means that when I get back, I can provide nearly-authentic cuisine.for now, though, to business. That's what women are for. Female volunteers deal with this all the time, and I t...

A chronicle of my experiences and thoughts as a student, Peace Corps Volunteer, and interested human being. Thursday, February 17, 2011. World Map (part 2). First day of color- thanks to CJ and Jess! And here I am.I look black in this picture (3/3 PCVs agree). Yes, I made the logo backwards. Sorry, bird. You don't get to be above the star and the morphing star. It'll be interesting to see if anyone ever notices this. There's not actually any magical shiny stuff hovering over the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. First...

My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. I just got back from a two week vacation in Senegal. It was a badly needed vacation so that I could relax eat anything my heart desired. I met my friend from college, Clint, and we stayed at fancy hotel in the heart of Dakar. It was right on the coast, with an amazing breakfast buffet, and a gorgeous pool where you could sun tan and hear the waves crashing. I never thought I would be able to do any of that in Africa, but it was awesome! We ended the trip by simply rela...

My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. Cameroon to Tanzania to Thailand. These past few months have just seemed to fly by. So much happening and so quickly. In December I really started to tie up loose ends in Cameroon and bring my work at UNICEF to a close. It was a really bittersweet time. During my last week in Cameroon, which also happened to be the first week of 2013, I was lucky enough to have a good group of PCVs in the capital. It was a great way to start off the new year. I then met my friends, Ans...

My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. First few weeks in Yaounde. Recreation and relaxation options are much greater in the city. Peace Corps Volunteers are always in and out and ready to hang out. My fellow UNICEF workers are a very interesting and experienced group of people that I hope to get to know more. My officemate is a French volunteer working on a malaria initiative. There is also an expatriate community here that organizes activities like: ultimate Frisbee and yoga! Pennsylvania for the Holidays.

My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. Celebrating 50 years of Peace Corps in Cameroon. For the past two months I was completely consumed with helping to plan and coordinate the 50 year anniversary event that Peace Corps held. Our new Country Director, Jackie Sesonga, had seen similar events across West Africa and decided that this would be a great opportunity for PC Cameroon to raise our visibility in country. My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. After the 50th anniversary event I needed to take some vacation days to unwind. Luckily Thanksgiving fell perfectly into this time. So on Black Friday I headed to Bertoua where I would eat my 3rd Thanksgiving meal over two days. Pretty awesome. I made our family spinach dip in a bread boat and we killed our own turkey. After Bertoua, I headed to Kentzou where Jakob and Geoff live. Kentzou is a town all the way on the eastern border of Cameroon. Eddie worked really hard...

My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. Summer Camps and 4ht of July. On the actual 4th I went to Dschang and spent an afternoon at the pool with some other volunteers. We made pizza for dinner with potato salad and mango cobbler. What more can you ask for? Also I cut my hair! I now have bangs and about 8 fewer inches. It is much easier to wash now. My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. Dust is everywhere. Every time the wind picks up, there is more dust, when a moto drives by, when a car or truck rumbles down the road; more dust. Ok that is enough complaining about the dust; I just look forward to when the trees are green again, the sky is blue again, and the air is fresh. Dust is everywhere. Every time the wind picks up, there is more dust, when a moto drives by, when a car or truck rumbles down the road; more dust. I have been working on a painting...

My Peace Corps Journey in Cameroun. Biking through the Jungle. A while ago, some fellow PCVs were thinking a loud about taking a bike trip from Ambam in the South region to the beach in Campo through the Campo-Ma’an National Park. It sounded like an amazing, yet lofty, idea. Somehow, though, we just realized this project. Then we took a car to our starting village of Nyambissang. That afternoon we biked to a nearby village and then hiked to some waterfalls with a guide. It seemed like a miracle. We r...

Katherine Crocker | Poet and musician
Welcome to my website. Hello I’m Katherine Crocker, poet and musician. Since winning the Indigo Dreams poetry pamphlet prize in 2010, I published my first book in 2012. The pamphlet included illustrations by Joseph Crocker. Many of the poems had already appeared in literary magazines, so I thank all those editors who encouraged me to continue to write. On the events page I list the venues where you will be able to come and hear the new poems before publication. Proudly powered by WordPress.

Bonton’s Social Media Policy. Social Media has become an essential marketing tool for companies big and small. More often than ever, you hear stories of social media activity gone wrong. In order to monitor what occurs on a company’s social media platforms, a policy is put in place. The policy gives guidelines as to what you can post, how to respond to customer inquiries, etc. I referenced Bon-Ton’s Social Media Policy. To further educate myself on the subject matter. If the Milwaukee Film Festival used ...
