On The Farm: Week 2 – Red Garden Clogs
https://redgardenclogs.wordpress.com/2012/05/06/on-the-farm-week-2
Urban Gardening, Cooking, and Canning. May 6, 2012. On The Farm: Week 2. Week two on the farm was a bit warmer than the first week. Every Monday morning we do a “Farm Walk” to observe everything and make task lists of the work that needs to be done. It’s inspired me to try to do some similar weekly assessment / task list in my own garden at home. While in the hoophouse on our Farm Walk this week, we notice leaf miner damage once again: (sorry, I’ve forgotten what plant this leaf belonged to! The real tre...

Behind the Parsonage: Swiss Chard
http://behindtheparsonage.blogspot.com/2010/06/swiss-chard.html
The life and times of a first time square foot gardener. Saturday, June 26, 2010. I've decided to plant some Swiss Chard. I'm pulling out my cilantro and probably most of the lettuce and would like to plant something that will still grow for awhile. I've seen SO much information on Swiss Chard lately! It seems that everyone has Swiss Chard in their garden. I've even seen pictures of Swiss Chard used as a flower arrangement (which, to a super-allergic gal like me, is a fantastic idea)! Sugar Ann Snap Peas.

And Romaine). So far they are doing great. I've got 2 flowers on my Cherry Red tomato and the rest of the newbies are looking good. I think ...

http://behindtheparsonage.blogspot.com/2010/06/bye-bye-cilantro.html
The life and times of a first time square foot gardener. Thursday, June 24, 2010. I didn't even get to use one single sprig! Here you can kind of see the difference between the leaves on the bottom and the leaves on the top. I've also decided not to plant SO much lettuce next year! 4 squares was WAY too much! We've done our best to eat as much as we can but it just keeps coming back! June 25, 2010 at 12:53 PM. June 26, 2010 at 10:21 PM. It IS the best herb! July 6, 2010 at 12:18 PM. Im glad that you pull...

Happy Hydrangea News – Red Garden Clogs
https://redgardenclogs.wordpress.com/2012/05/05/happy-hydrangea-news
Urban Gardening, Cooking, and Canning. May 5, 2012. Please forgive me for mistakenly identifying you as an Annabelle variety and hacking you nearly to the ground in the fall of 2010. (Incriminating photos HERE. Your blooms were sorely missed last year, and I have only myself to blame. (I’m learning, I’m learning! With the help of Lady Flora. And In My Garden (Country Edition). I now realize that you are most likely a macrophylla variety, possibly ‘Niko Blue,’ and that you bloom on old wood. I’ve ha...

Urban Gardening, Cooking, and Canning. Since one of my goals this year is to start the majority of what I grow from seed, it’s a good thing I have been given or traded lots of seeds last fall. Through swapping seeds with Mimi at Gardening in the Boroughs of NYC. Kati at Revel Gardener. Elaine at Bucolic Bushwick. Beets – Chioggia – 2011 – Mimi. Tomato – P...
