Sew What's Next?: In the Making: Box Wallets
http://sewwhatsnext.blogspot.com/2012/05/in-making-box-wallets.html
Tuesday, May 15, 2012. In the Making: Box Wallets. I've been MIA for a little while. Work (my real job) has been ramping up and it is a bit insane. May and June are pretty busy months for me and it seems it gets worse every single year. Sigh! But no chatting about work. Blah! So last week I spent a bunch of time cutting and pressing a bunch of Box Wallets. I made a few for my last craft fair, and they were hot sellers. And interestingly enough, my sister's favorite item. So cutting I did! Nice stack, huh?

The Shoebox: February 2013
http://thebrsite.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 10, 2013. Claire is 8 months old this weekend! I tell ya, she just gets more fun the older she gets! I love it. We had a lovely weekend while Dad was out snowboarding. We definitely missed him, but we also had a good time while he was gone. We took some time to take her 8 month-old pics - which I did NOT realize she had her size 6 month jeans on! I thought her little gut stuck out a bit much! Here's my big girl standing up with just a little help! Get those gates up on the stairs! Rather...

sewing bee: August 2009
http://my-sewing-bee.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 26 August 2009. Two rather nice sites that I've come across in the last week spurred me on to write a post and pass them on to you. The first is a beautifully designed blog/shop by Colette. And both this and her Colette blog. Have lots of good links. Next up is Craftapalooza. Which is a lovely splash of colour and is awash with punchy prints. There are kits and all for sale and then you can hop over to the blog. And see what goes on behind the scenes. Links to this post. Monday, 17 August 2009.

sewing bee: Something blue...
http://my-sewing-bee.blogspot.com/2009/08/something-blue.html
Monday, 17 August 2009. And that must mean something boro'd. Boro is the Japanese word for patched or mended textiles. For too long this also meant shame and deprivation. Like the sharecroppers of America the need to use what was to hand to make your own clothes was regarded as a necessity but not one to be celebrated. Now, with our growing interest in sustainability (see my new workshop on Design and Create. We are beginning to appreciate the innovation such pieces represent. I was interested to read th...

sewing bee: Antwerp Museum of Fashion - MOMU
http://my-sewing-bee.blogspot.com/2009/07/antwerp-museum-of-fashion-momu.html
Friday, 24 July 2009. Antwerp Museum of Fashion - MOMU. I was so pleasantly pleased with Belgium. Quaint, quirky and just made for me. Right down to the moreish waffles! On a stifling day last week, I wandered in to the cool calm of the Antwerp Museum of Fashion. The exhibition at the moment is Paper Dresses, which didn't exactly fill me with confidence but when I came to wander round (joy of joys I was almost completely alone! Belgium is EMPTY. Go now! sewing bee: May 2009
http://my-sewing-bee.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 27 May 2009. I was listening to Front Row. On BBC Radio 4 yesterday evening and they had an interview with Tracey Emin. Everyone I Ever Slept With 1963 - 1995'. Love her or not, she certainly provokes thought. In the run-up to her forthcoming exhibition at The White Cube Gallery in Whitechapel, London, she spoke of her new work and her return to sewing as a method of expression. I do not expect to be a mother' (2002). Strangely enough it energised me to rush off to the sewing-machine today!

sewing bee: September 2009

Wednesday, 9 September 2009. Sewing by the book. Sometimes we need some inspiration - well, I seem to need a lot of that commodity. And sometimes we find it through books and magazines. I've stumbled across a couple of publications which I thought I'd pass on and then I'd search them out for myself too. The first is a 'real' magazine in that you have to physically go and buy it. Tsk, but it's title was cute so I felt it best to pass on to my dear readers. Sew Hip. So I'm a very happy girl. With Claire Mo...

sewing bee: What a deal
http://my-sewing-bee.blogspot.com/2009/08/what-deal.html
Tuesday, 4 August 2009. I was having a lovely chat with a friend who is as crazy as I am about sewing. She also knows a deal when she sees one and this is some deal! A sewing machine from John (lovely) Lewis. For just under £50! Sales have been beyond expectation and they've had to rush more out than anticipated. That tells me that people are coming back to sewing. We'll be making our entire wardrobe soon and Vivienne Westwood may not be alone in her expertise! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Giganti...
