Dublin Days: April 2007
http://dublin-days.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 29, 2007. Happy Birthday, Síofra Maighréad! Síofra turned 3 today! We had a great party with over 25 people in our apartment. Despite my worrying, we had plenty of food, and the Butterfly Cake turned out great. Some of her friends from the park came along, and Auntie Ann and Grandma were up from Cork. Síofra was in her element as the party girl- she has loved parties and excitement ever since her spectacular birth. Here are a few pics. The Cake ( very easy to do, by the way. 3) how I ever t...

Dublin Days: February 2007

Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Now she takes great pride in being a "big girl," as well as taking a great interest in her waste products. Her latest hobby is to take a look at the poo and comment on it. In the same way that some folks look at the clouds and see images, Siofra sees things in her poo. Here's a list of some of her visions:. 1 "It's like a horse! 2 "It's like a chair! 3 "It's like a bagel! 4 "It's like a rainbow! I'm sure this is a sign of great intelligence. Dublin Days: November 2006
http://dublin-days.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 28, 2006. We're back. We had a great ten days back in Michigan, and are swiftly recovering from the jet lag (Síofra and Paddy were both up at 1 am last night playing). The highlights of the trip were:. 1 How great the kids were on the flights. Seriously, we were lucky. Maybe when you prepare yourself for complete disaster, mild disruption seems enjoyable. It really is good. She uses it to Paddy when he tries to take something from her. I'm thinking her girl cousins taught it to her!

Dublin Days: June 2007
http://dublin-days.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 26, 2007. It's been a busy week.I had my doula training on Friday and Saturday and it was great. It really deserves its own post but I'm still processing it all, so you'll have to wait. Siofra graduated from playschool, and also played the Pig in the Little Red Hen on Friday. She loved her diploma, but probably loved the pink face paint more. Paddy can say about 10 words now, including "Ra-Ra" for Siofra and he has fully moved into her bedroom now, at least for most of the night. Honest to ...

Dublin Days: January 2007
http://dublin-days.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 31, 2007. It's January; it's chilly, windy and mostly drizzly outside. Winter days in Ireland. Are short of daylight.and although we're starting to see a difference, with an additional 2 minutes of sunlight each night, we're still in the dark by 5 pm. So we're all waiting, impatiently, for Spring. Siofra, however, seems to have found a shortcut. When I went into her room to turn out the light tonight, I was greeted by this sight. What is she dreaming about? A day at the beach? Padraic'...

Thursday, March 29, 2007. A Cup of Ambition. I'm not the sort of person who owns a lot of videos (I don't really see the point because once you've watched something once, why have it hanging around cluttering the place up? However, I do own this on DVD, because it's simply my favorite movie. And I watched it today, for the trillionth time, and it's still brilliant. And anyhow, how can you not love Dolly Parton? Please go out and rent it tonight. The world will be a happier place if you do. But it doesn't...

Dublin Days: December 2006
http://dublin-days.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 26, 2006. We had a really nice, relaxing Christmas in Dublin- the first time in 10 years. Santa and the reindeer came, left presents and had a snack. Síofra woke up at 6:30, but didn't realize the significance of the day, so she managed to stay in bed until a more civilized hour of 7:15. When she came into the living room and saw the presents, she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! She repeated this with every gift that was opened. Santa came through with the bike Síofra wanted. 2 Now, you can cho...
