http://discomermaids.blogspot.com/2008/08/day-2-at-scbwi.html
The Disco Mermaids (Robin M. - Jay A. - Eve P.). Three authors discuss writing for children and teens - "The road to publication isn't easy. It's kind of like a churro.long and bumpy, but sweet.". Sunday, August 03, 2008. Day 2 at SCBWI. It was standing-room only at Jay's first non-panel SCBWI workshop. Isn't this the most beautiful audience you've ever seen? As part of Jay's workshop, he used a Powerpoint slide exposing Bruce Coville. Robin and Eve and lady in red, Suzanne Young. Wow, look at you three!

Eve Porinchak: A New Day
http://eveporinchak.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-day.html
Friday, January 16, 2009. 160;A whole blog, all to myself. Where to start? It's been exactly 6.5 years since I quit teaching first grade to write kid's books "full-time." And what a ride this road to publication has been! 160;I immediately jumped in with both feet, attended every single class, conference, workshop, and critique session on the planet, studied the craft of writing intensely, and expected to have a published novel within a year or two. HA! PUBLISHED BOOK = HAPPINESS . 160;Though I still ...

Irish connections and good news - Reading, writing, and chocolate
http://stacy-dekeyser.livejournal.com/70539.html
Reading, writing, and chocolate. Irish connections and good news. Nov 5th, 2010 at 11:44 AM. I shall enjoy getting used to saying it: I'm a McElderry author. Margaret K. McElderry Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster, is going to publish my midgrade fantasy novel. The one I struggled to finish. And I can get used to saying this too: My editor is the lovely Karen Wojtyla. For all this loveliness, I owe untold thanks to my sweet and savvy (and lovely) agent Tracey Adams. The luck of the Irish? Definitel...

PANDAS. - Update. Sep 17th, 2010 at 10:55 AM. Last month I wrote a locked post about an 11-year-old friend of mine who has P.A.N.D.A.S., which stands for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections. Now that the family is doing well and I have good news to report, I have unlocked the entry and I deleted the private posts from my readers in the comments sections. 17 comments Leave a comment. John Lennon once said . . . John Lennon once said . . . Life is what happens while you're busy making plans. So true. I've been away from LJ for awhile, dealing with family and work, but I'm making baby steps toward getting back to my regular life. Talk about a long commercial interruption! It was also good to see many old friends, and my agent, and Lin Oliver and editor Jennifer Wingertzahn, whom I had the good pleasure of hanging out with for a weekend in the wilds of Arkansas a couple of years ago!

SCBWI-LA: First Night! - Candie Moonshower Blogs!
http://c-moonshower.livejournal.com/11919.html
One year when I was at Writer's Camp . . . I'm back, and I've been so busy getting the kids ready for school on Monday that I haven't had time to blog or write a word or even think. I've tried to catch as many of the LA Roundups as possible, and there have been some good ones thanks, y'all! In keeping with a theme this summer, first things first:. Toes in LA relaxing in the Lobby Bar for much-needed refreshments after enduring Rush Hour in a cab! Enjoys the view from our balcony! And I enjoy a group hug!
