This prompted me to embrace each of my children's uniqueness and capture a photo of them that would show their personalities and not worry about getting "The perfect family photograph". Is there such a thing? Now when I see most posed and perfect family photos all I see are the smiles that I forced on my kids and the stress and aggravation hiding behind my own. View the entire collection. Remember to enjoy the moment.

the Hart of the Matter: Upside Down
http://foursweetharts.blogspot.com/2010/01/upside-down.html
Thursday, January 21, 2010. Over the holidays our good friends, the Grahams, came for a visit! We always look forward to their visits, even though we only get to see them a couple times a year! This year was especially fun because we talked them into staying two nights, instead of just one! We manage to pack as much fun into three days and two nights as possible! Oh how we loved that little street. That was over three years ago now! Since then my BFF Bethany and I have spent more hours than I could ever ...

the Hart of the Matter: sNOw Thank You!
http://foursweetharts.blogspot.com/2010/01/snow-thank-you.html
Saturday, January 16, 2010. I can't remember the last time we've had a winter with this much snow in Kansas! We got over nine inches on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but it was hard to tell because in some places the drifts were over six foot high! Then the day after New Years we got a few more inches, and the first week of January week we added another four plus inches to our total! Needless to say it has been freezing! Here is Kaylen testing the drifts in our backyard on Christmas Day:. We took the ...

the Hart of the Matter: August 2009
http://foursweetharts.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2009. For the past several days I have gone back and forth, back and forth between wanting to post an update, and not wanting to "jinx" things! Here we go again. Who would have ever thought that a crazy disease could challenge my faith in this way? Ok, yeah, a disease like this would be a pretty obvious test for anyone’s faith! It seems like every time I bring you good news, I find myself following up a few days later with an urgent prayer request. The other day when Avery's school ask...

Monday, August 30, 2010. Healthy After School Snack. Here is a super quick, very healthy recipe I've made several times that I wanted to share. They are great to pack in kids lunch boxes, for after school snacks instead of sugary cookies or even for a grab-and-go breakfast. They are loaded with protein, whole grains and a bit of fruit. Yum! Served with a glass of cold milk, they are a great after school snack. My teenager downs an apple or two along with several of these little PB balls. Millet is tasty,...

Our Sweet Life: Every Day Learning Opportunities
http://lockerroomchat.blogspot.com/2011/09/every-day-learning-opportunities.html
Sunday, September 25, 2011. Every Day Learning Opportunities. You don't have to be a home schooling mom to take the opportunity to teach your children new and fun things every day. You don't even need to buy lesson planners, organizers or work books. In fact, I've found that spur of the moment learning opportunities from things found around your home or neighborhood are often some of the best and most fun ways for kids to learn and grow. When the kids run out of food to cut out they have fun cutting out ...

The Flaming Family: Its like the first day of school
http://steveandrebekah.blogspot.com/2009/08/its-like-first-day-of-school.html
Monday, August 24, 2009. Its like the first day of school. Last week, Cali went to Doggie Day Camp! We had meant to send her long ago but we were a little hesitant. She kept trying to be dominant and hardly obeyed us. After many dvds of Cesar Millan and numerous frustrating walks, we finally got her to realize that we were the pack leaders. The interview was a success! It really was like the first day of school. The proud parents happy to have her making new friends and getting along with everyone! My Te...

The Flaming Family: Getting Ready
http://steveandrebekah.blogspot.com/2009/03/getting-ready.html
Wednesday, March 25, 2009. I've been getting ready. The St. Patrick's Day Triathlon was my practice race. It was a sprint: 300m swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. I did really well considering the weather. I hopped out of the pool and ran outside to 40 degrees and misting. Here's what it looked like. My transition area wasn't ideal. Everything was cold and wet and I struggled to put on warm clothes after the swim. Needless to say, my transition time was really slow! If I look freezing, its because I was!

Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Pray For This Precious Girl. I talked to my sister yesterday and she told me about a little girl named Cora who is going through a very difficult time right now. I just ask you to take a minute to pray for this precious baby girl. And if you'd like to know more you can check out my sister's blog, Cora's parents' blog, or a blog created just for Cora:.
