LIVING IN LOS ANGELES WITHOUT A CAR (LILAWAC). It can be done! Yay for Holiday DASH! If I had my choice, I would probably get around Los Angeles strictly by DASH bus. They are quick, comfortable, and only 25 cents. And now through the holidays, they run on Friday and Saturday nights in Downtown LA! How super great is this. I ganked this map off the DASH web site. When NOT to ride your bike. When the air quality is as bad as it is now. When you have to worry about coyotes chasing you. Air quality = poor.

I always intended to join a carshare service when I went car-free, but honestly it hasn't been necessary nearly as often as I expected it to. This is primarily due to the limits of the service, though: I've rented a UHaul for errands as often as I've rented a Zipcar, because there are no trucks available through Zipcar in my area!
