The Sun in Time. The vector magnetograph is not currently taking data. The image displayed is an example of a MSFC vector magnetograph data product. The vector plot consists of an overlay on the visible-light image (gray-scale) of the line-of-sight component of the field (contours) and the travsverse component of the field (ticks). H-ALPHA COALIGNED WITH SHEAR. Occasional images in H-alpha co-aligned with magnetic shear are available through this link: Co-aligned H-alpha/Shear Image.
