The mountains are calling…. After my week-a-versery my body was telling me it needed a break! So me and two of my new gal pals decided to take a zero in Hiawassee, GA. For those of you readers who don’t know hiker lingo, a zero is when you hike a total of ZERO miles on the trail. It’s a beautiful thing. I found these two AWESOME young women who are thru-hiking the AT while also filming to make a documentary of women on the AT. HOW COOL? The mountains are calling…. I’ve not only made it into North Carolina but I recently made it to my 100th mile on the trail! The 100th mile for a northbound AT thru hiker is marked by Albert Mountain, a peak that is little over 5,000 feet in elevation with a fire tower right on top! Should make for an awesome view, right? 8230; Well, that’s if weather nice. Which in my case it is continuously NOT in my favor…. Most of my view was a blanket of fog, but here is a video of some stuff. Everyone was very happy.
