List of Malls Covered. Join the Facebook Group. Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Fairfield Commons Mall/Eastgate Mall: Richmond, VA. By far, the most interesting aspect of the mall is the Maxway, which originally opened as G.C. Murphy's and still retains the "M" from when it was Murphy's. A find like this, especially in a mall, this recent is rare indeed and proves that the days of the mall are definitely numbered. More shots of the vintage Murphy's including some inside detail by Mike Kalasnik. The mall as it st...

Sky City: Southern and Mid-Atlantic Retail History: November 2014
http://skycity2.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
List of Malls Covered. Join the Facebook Group. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Fair Oaks Mall: Fairfax, VA. One of the most special things about Fair Oaks Mall was its unique center court fountain. Unfortunately this was taken out and replaced with just a flat spot with new flooring in the 2013 renovation. I was glad to see and capture it before it was gone for good. Star Wars" ceilings and spacious angular atriums are a common feature throughout the mall. A second elevator exists opposite the one next to ...
