Of course, it was the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, and a lot of Olympic training is still conducted there. As I rounded a turn about 2 miles from Lake Placid, I came upon this:. They actually practice jumping during the summer from the 90-meter tower on the left. What you see is a synthetic surface they jump on. This is a view from the bottom of the two towers.

New England and Maritime Provinces 2012. Thursday, August 2, 2012. August 2, 2012. I left Rutland this morning to clear skies and bright sunshine for a change. I headed back east on US 4 to Windsor, NH, to visit the American Precision Museum. Along the way, I stopped in Woodstock, VT to take a few pictures. I had passed through Woodstock on the way up a couple weeks ago and it's really a pretty, picturesque New England town. Here are a couple shots:.
