GOAL are an NGO working in slum areas of Nairobi. Near Mukuru slum they have a small Resource Centre, which aims to provide a place for community members to read the papers. And access other information. They also have a small mobile library, which tours other areas lending books to other organisations. These two projects are both run by qualified library assistants (Certificate and diploma).

Jailed kids Project or Outreach- dealing with the feeding and repatriation of kids in jail. The main aim has been freeing the juvenile kids from the juvenile court system and linking them with their families as well as feeding them in hte court and remand home. They also do sports activities in the homes. Shootback Project - dealing with photography, videography and skills development. Sports and leadership Academy dealing with Sports and leadership training for top MYSA leaders, coaches and referees .

Over 70% of Nairobi's population lives in slum areas.Mathare valley slum is the second largest slum in Kenya. It is located on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya's capital. The people in the slums are going to the toilet in black polethene bags, they then throw them as far as they can into another area where people live. To use one of the few clean toilets that they do have, it costs 5shs for a short call and 10shs for a long call. Although the Mathare slum area look dreadful, the people are not!
