Maxs China Mission

Friday, August 21, 2009. Headed for the subway to get to the Shanghai Railway Station to arrive at my destination, Suzhou. A very challenging mission to say the least! I keep forgetting this is a city of 20 million people and everything is on a scale of huge proportions. The amount of people traveling is staggering. Thousands of very hot, sweaty, pushy, line cutting Chinese who know what they are doing and me….I would look around and laugh because it was just so challenging! Cream cheese - $6.00 US.

Maxs China Mission: "Walking" - Lunch! Surgery Day 4

http://maxschinamission.blogspot.com/2009/08/walking-lunch-surgery-day-4.html

Thursday, August 6, 2009. After we did the exchange Joyce and I began to walk the promenade which is called, " the walking." No cars allowed. It is a nice area with possibly hundreds of shops. Very hip to very cheap. We went in and out of several. Trying on taking off, laughing because the women here are tiny and the size range is quite different from American sized women. Joyce and I sat down at a table by a large window. We looked over the menu that had pictures and Changlish. We saw WAFFLES! Since wor...

Maxs China Mission: A day spent in the Art District "798" and Beijing locals

http://maxschinamission.blogspot.com/2009/08/day-spent-in-art-district-798-and.html

Monday, August 17, 2009. A day spent in the Art District "798" and Beijing locals. Up and out by 10:30am. I needed a little extra sleep after yesterday! My first stop on todays list was to take the subway to the Old Summer Palace. Before leaving I spoke with the concierge to confirm the location of the subway and if he had any other suggestions or changes on the order that I had planned for the rest of my day. Max Schindler | "Doing for modern art what Jeremy Clarkson has done for women's lib" (Melborne Evening Post)

Wot is modern Art? January 16, 2018. Wot is modern art? Arguable the first act of modern art, or ‘getting away with murder’, was committed circa 1840 by William Mallard ‘Slasher’ Turner (details are hazy , like much of Slashers’ work) but modern art has been going on ever since. It seemed anything could be, and would be, sneaked passed security and into an art gallery: bricks, vacuum cleaners, dog turds, pipes (cunningly labled ‘this is not a pipe) sheep, sharks, blank canvases and even whole houses!

Max Schireson's blog | Thoughts on technology and the tech business

Max Schireson's blog. Thoughts on technology and the tech business. Posted September 3, 2015. A little over a year ago, I decided to step down as CEO of MongoDB. I am now ramping up my work life again – though not to anywhere near the intensity of being CEO – and I thought this would be a good time to share an update on my last year. All very normal. I like it. Maybe other people could have done all of this while being CEO of a fast-growing company. I know I wasn’t able to. Posted August 5, 2014. I have ...
