Two other books of interest have been researched and written. They are:. Ghost Town Dover and the British Temperance Emigration Society. This book is on Dover, the ghost town once located along current US Highway 14, between Mazomanie and Arena, Wisconsin. The soft cover 8 1/2 x 11 inch book of 320 pages includes a CD of 380 pages presenting genealogical research of over four thousand people related to the Dover area. St Barnabas Sesquicentennial Book.

Mazomanie History Home Page. The local history and genealogy of Mazomanie, Arena and Black Earth of south central Wisconsin are my interests. These interests were developed over the last thirty-five years culminating in the writing of historical books the last six years. I recently finished researching and writing. Mazomanie - Railroad Town,. A history of the railroad's influence in the small village. My next project is the story of the Civil War effect on Mazomanie and the area people who participated.

Mazomanie - Railroad Town. The influence of the railroad on the village is demonstrated with up to 25% of the town's working force , working directly for the railroad. Nearly 400 railroad employees are indentified with Mazomanie, totaling nearly 10,000 years of service. Bigraphical sketches of all are cataloged including John A. Hill, a Mazomanie raised engineer, who became President of the McGraw - Hill Publishing Company. The soft cover 8 1/2 x 11 inch book has 20 chapters of 450 pages.

Founding Mazomanie 1855 - 1861. I have published a book on the founding of the village of Mazomanie. It is a follow up to the initial village history book written in 1900 by William Kittle. His book was titled. The History of the Township and Village of Mazomanie. My current history contains much more specific detail and more data. Biographies of many more of the early settlers, businessmen, professionals, tradesmen and laborers are sketched within these pages.
