Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Downton, Parade's End and British food between the wars. I am completely loving Downton, and was devestated by Sunday night's turn of events (even if I did watch it on Monday, through the wonder of PVR). Came across this fascinating piece in the Observer about British food between the wars. And I thought, yes, I am indeed the kind of woman who paints her house white, and breakfasts in bed (althought the latter, rarely). Looks fascinating, although I suspect, hardly vegetarian.

http://sashinka.blogspot.com/2013/04/been-while-but-customer-service-still.html
Friday, April 12, 2013. Been a while - but customer service still crap. I know, I know. I used to blog like every day and now it's once in a while (you should see my facebook posts, though.). I don't know quite how it happened, but I got into upholstery. I'm doing a fabulous class, and found a really inspirational teacher, although when she saw my great ebay find (multi-position double cushioned thirties oak recliner) she did say "most people start with a stool.". She finishes her phonecall, and I expect...

http://sashinka.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-power-of-advertising.html
Thursday, July 11, 2013. The power of advertising. Mummy, (he says as he crawls into bed for a cuddle this morning) you don't need a credit score, you just need someone you know to do a credit score. What is a credit score, Joshie? It's a score for credit. Like a credit card. Mmm, either he's a four year old financial advisor, or he's watching too much TV. Mummy, you can get unlimited broadband for £9.99 with sky. Do not underate the power of advertising. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Word a Day.

Promethea Guide Book updates: Acknowledgements
http://eroomnalapgb.blogspot.com/2004/06/acknowledgements.html
Promethea Guide Book updates. Thursday, June 03, 2004. Probably the only bit from the book that I'll post online before I actually publish it or complete it will be the Acknowledgements Page. Not counting the acknowledgements for the main people such as Alan and JH Williams, etc. Here's a list of who I have to thank so far:. This book would not have been possible without the assistance of the following people:. JDC, Johan Kaikkonen, Peter Karpas. Rob Keery, Craig Klotz, Christine Hoff Kraemer. If I've le...

Between blotch and blok. Twa corbies making a mane. Jul 25th, 2015 at 5:18 PM. Ive done my back in. Just like the previous two occasions, but veering towards the worse of the first time rather than the not so bad of the second. So, no trip down to Wells with M to drop Looby Loo at Latin Camp. Bah! Wells (I like wells, too, but thats something entirely different.). Now how to explain to the fading Little cat that there is absolutely no way I can stand her sleeping on me tonight. Under a b* * y cat. Virgin...

There's no accounting for cats - Between blotch and blok

Between blotch and blok. Twa corbies making a mane. There's no accounting for cats. Jul 29th, 2015 at 3:10 PM. Mr Socks has spent the last few weeks looking up longingly at my lap, which was almost inevitably occupied by Little. Ive made sure hes got his share of my attention, when Little decamped to M or Looby Loo. Now, of course, hes avoiding me and Mr Oswald- the non-lap cat- has happily curled up on me. Between blotch and blok. Twa corbies making a mane. Jan 21st, 2016 at 1:09 PM. I hate the final stages of knitting: blocking, pressing, sewing seams, weaving in ends. Which is why, although I finished knitting the shawl the weekend before last, Ive only just finished it. Ive put on soothing music, woven in all eight loose ends, gently washed the shawl, squished the surplus wet out in a towel, and pinned it out to dry:. I did have some help:. So, credits for this piece of work:. Yarn from John Lewis.

Between blotch and blok. Twa corbies making a mane. Accounting for a Cat (1). Jul 29th, 2015 at 2:32 PM. We adopted Little on June 6th 1996 (I just checked the paperwork). She was a year old, but had been at the Blue Cross for six months (we were told: they were trying very hard to sell Big, but especially Little, to us). So she could have been not much more than one up to nearly two and a half. She was at the very least 20 when she died. A pretty good innings. Wires for the Birds. Shiny, Sparkly Things.
