Metro Blog: Mary Witlacil. Life is too short to spend your time doing anything but living. Friday, July 28, 2006. About a year before the last presidential election, I registered for American National Government and Intro to Philosophy. Both of these classes sparked something in me: a hunger to learn as much about the world, politics and philosophy as possible; and then a need to take action. Basically, prospective students, what I'm trying to tell you is that if you get involved college will be more fun...

Metro Blog: Aaron "Jack" Wylie. Tuesday, June 27, 2006. A month can pass in seven days. It always amazes me how time passes. It's been only seven days since I paused to share a little about my life with you all, but it feels like it has been a month or more. All I know is that I have 26 Excel spreadsheets full of data to examine and organize.somehow. I think I'm going to get on that. More to come. Posted by Admin: cm @ 3:45 PM. Tuesday, June 20, 2006. Metro Blog: Mary Witlacil. Life is too short to spend your time doing anything but living. Friday, June 30, 2006. Since arriving in Denver I've been reading all the books, articles and news that I normally don't have time for, because, normally, I'm reading books, articles and news for classes. I've been lucky at Metro, most of the reading I've done for classes has been enjoyable, because many of the professors I've had care. Metro isn't a "money" school, it's affordable higher education (say what? Reali...

Metro Blog: Aaron "Jack" Wylie. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. I am continually amazed at all the opportunities that I have received from my time at Metro. I never would have believed someone if they had told me three years ago that I would end up where I am today. Here's to never having a dull moment. Posted by Admin: cm @ 2:17 PM. Wednesday, July 19, 2006. I wanted to post an update to my story last week, but Blogger hasn't been letting me log on. It was an even more interesting day after the leak. At that po...

Metro Blog: Aaron "Jack" Wylie. Thursday, August 24, 2006. I've had a rough start to my semester. I found out last week that my Grandma died. We all knew it was coming. It was really a blessing since she has been in so much pain for so long. Yet, that doesn't make it any easier to let go. We will miss you grandma. It won't be the same without you. You are home now. Posted by Admin: cm @ 9:25 AM. Wednesday, August 02, 2006. I finally got moved into my new apartment. It's amazing. I'm down off 11th...I mov...

Metro Blog: Aaron "Jack" Wylie. Sunday, December 10, 2006. This is worth a moment of your time. Today, Bristol-Myers Squibb, the pharmaceutical monolith that charges nearly $1,000 for a 30 day supply of one of its HIV/AIDS medications, is donating $1 to the National AIDS Fund for each person who simply visits their website and "virtually lights a candle." The tally is near over 1,000,000 now. Please, please take a minute to "light a candle":. This really will take just a second! Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.

Metro Blog: Aaron "Jack" Wylie. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. If you're feeling down. I myself have been struggling to stay sane, and I saw this recently. Perhaps I just have a childish sense of humor, but this made my day. Posted by Admin: cm @ 1:00 PM. Friday, November 24, 2006. So it's been 3 months since I last blogged, and that's pretty sad. I take no pride whatsoever in the origin of this holiday, but love it for very different reasons. Thanksgiving is the one day a year that nearly every busines...

Metro Blog: Mary Witlacil. Life is too short to spend your time doing anything but living. Sunday, May 28, 2006. Before we went slightly off track at the Hamptons, we had (mostly) adhered to the adventure cycling route (which is a series of maps we bought online to get us across the country); but quickly ascertained that it was the best route for us to waste a lot of time in small towns on short surface roads. We have since decided to stick to highways and bike trails. Posted by Admin: cm @ 1:00 PM.
