Or small group) is a group of people, usually from church, that meets once a week to do 3 things-1) study the bible 2) serve at church and 3) serve in the community. I would add a 4 th. Saying that social activities always find their way into the mix. I've never been a part of a lifegroup. That didn't have parties together or meet for dinner occasionally. Kevin and I have been in several lifegroups.
