Doonside has five spacious bedrooms decorated in a contemporary style. On the ground floor, there are two twin bedrooms, and one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Two other ground floor bathrooms (one with a bath, one with a shower) means that there is a bathroom for each bedroom. The first floor has a sitting room with a two-seater sofa, television and DVD player and a supply of toys, books and games to keep the children amused! Pets are very welcome at Doonside. Belleisle was designed by professional golfer James Braid, has hosted the Scottish Open and is widely considered to be one of the best public courses in Scotland. Robert Burns (1759-1796) was born in the neighbouring town of Alloway. No visit to the area is complete without sampling the Burns experience. The recently opened Robert Burns Birthplace Museum includes Burns Cottage, the poet's birthplace, some of the famous landmarks where he set his work, and a modern museum displaying the world's most impressive collection of his life and works.
