Friday, February 29, 2008. What's the Matter With Obama Supporters? While Mrs. Miller occasionally indulges her guilty pleasure of following celebrities (at right, her favorite dress from this year's Oscars), one of my vices is following the law-gossip blog Above the Law. Even further right, my pick for best dressed). Anyway, last week an AtL post caught my eye: Obama, BigLaw, and Taxes (Or: Obama = $34,000 Paycut). A few years ago, I stumbled over a book called What's the Matter With Kansas. It's prob...

from the Burrow: 29 Pasty people
http://henrystreetburrow.blogspot.com/2008/06/29-pasty-people.html
Friday, June 13, 2008. Maybe it's that their paycheck only covers food and housing or maybe its the long, sunless winters, but there are a lots of pasty people in New York City. You know the type. Little melanin and no account at the local tanning salon. They're ghostly white and, among them, I feel at home in my skin. Labels: New York Living. Haha, maybe I should move to NYC. Enough people in DC tan or frequent Hilton Head to make me feel deathly pale. :). June 13, 2008 at 4:22 PM. 28 Our back porch.

In 1976, Colene and I read the life changing book, How Shall We then Live, by Dr. Frances. The Lloyd family greatly impacted us. They expressed a love for God that translated into love of family and a warm open hospitality to all their visitors. In their home, there were shelves everywhere and all abundantly stocked with books&...Secon...

Sunday, August 24, 2008. Much to Think About. I just finished reviewing my read of Martyn Lloyd Jones’s book Romans 6 – The New Man. It is by far the best treatise on Romans 6 I have every read, and an easy read to boot. I have listed a number of quotes from his book that give the flavor of how he handles this great Christian doctrine of union with Christ which is bedrock for any understanding and experience of biblical sanctification. There is nothing, perhaps, in the whole range and realm of doctrine w...

Friday, May 23, 2008. 17 The New York Sun. The Burrow has been blessed with a free subscription to The New York Sun. The Sun's parochial (it endorsed Rudy, Hillary, and. Bloomberg) voice and neoconservative (meaning hawkish, pro-Israel, low-tax, gold-bug, and pro-choice) politics are refreshing if sometimes infuriating. And every Monday, the opinion pages feature the indispensable Mark Steyn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). E at four months. 23 Brooklyn Heights Promenade. 17 The New York Sun.

Sunday, August 16, 2009. On Spiritual Holiday – The Grove Church. The roots of The Grove. Church start in the fall of 2000 when a group of high school and junior high kids met in the backyard of a Tempe home for worship and prayer. They quickly outgrow the home as parents and friends joined. After several nomadic growth moves this band of 200 in 2002 secured their current 20 acre site. The architecture of the worship center is multipurpose. Metal cages around the projectors and three point half circl...

Tuesday, February 19, 2008. The Passing of a Great Man of God. Recently Colene and I attended a memorial service for Pastor Charles McHatton . Dr. McHatton pastored the first church I attended after being saved. He also performed the marriage ceremony for Colene and me, and dedicated Heather, our oldest daughter. He had a profound impact on our lives. Listening to them caused me to recount many of those early impact-full days. Some of those items that flooded my mind that evening were:. I heard prophetic...
