Traveling Light: Pasta is not my friend.
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2015/01/pasta-is-not-my-friend.html
It's about the journey. Monday, January 26, 2015. Pasta is not my friend. Week three was.carb loaded. I'm mostly out of rice so I decided to start using up the pasta I had around the house. Apparently, pasta makes me bloat. It was not fun. I am now saving the pasta to use for potluck meals at church. I have a little more rice to eat up so that's on the dinner menu. Most delicious pancakes I have had in awhile this morning. You can find the recipe here. This week coming up is the last week of my fiscal fa...

Traveling Light: The Malt-O-Meal is gone! :'-(
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-malt-o-meal-is-gone.html
It's about the journey. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. The Malt-O-Meal is gone! I spent most of last week breakfast polishing off the oatmeal crisp and Malt-o-meal. Alas, both have fallen deliciously by the wayside and this week I was looking for something new for breakfast. I am not a huge fan of cereal as it doesn't stick with me and I'm hungry two seconds later. So I found a recipe for granola using steel cut oats and tried that. It's amazing! You can find the recipe for it here. Here is a picture of my l...

Traveling Light: New Years Resolution
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2015/01/new-years-resolution.html
It's about the journey. Saturday, January 03, 2015. I almost typed revolution instead of resolution. Oops. I decided not to set any image goals this year. To be quite frank, I like myself very much. I'm not as physically fit as I could be nor do I fit the standard definition of what pop culture deems beautiful. And this year, I don't care. I like me just fine and any changes I want to make to my person this year will start with my character and not my body. I am keeping a journal about the experience and...

Traveling Light: Looking for a new challenge
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2015/02/looking-for-new-challenge.html
It's about the journey. Thursday, February 05, 2015. Looking for a new challenge. I have finished my fiscal fast. I saved about five hundred bucks over the month, although the net saving is about two hundred because of vet bills. Being a responsible pet owner can be expensive! Shots are not cheap. So I'd like to challenge myself to eat more of the good things. Does anybody have any ideas as to what would be a good regimen to follow or some good recipes? What are you all doing to feed yourselves well?

Traveling Light: Watering the Lawn
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2014/11/watering-lawn.html
It's about the journey. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my backyard is green again. Because of the rain. The saying goes that the grass is always greener on the other side. Any biologist (or sane and logical person) knows that saying to be somewhat untrue. The grass is green where it receives water. I'll restate that for you in case you missed it. The grass is green. Traveling Light: Cloud's Rest and other Yosemite Adventures
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2014/08/clouds-rest-and-other-yosemite.html
It's about the journey. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Cloud's Rest and other Yosemite Adventures. Difficult to get permits for 25 people. So this year, the hike was from Lake Tenaya to Cloud's Rest and down to the valley floor from there. It was 18 miles total. I did it in just under eleven hours. Whew! This is at Glacier Point. It's one of my favorite views in the whole park. Whenever I take someone new to Yosemite, I take them here. We were at 9,926 feet here. Nevada Falls view from Glacier Point. This was...

Traveling Light: No Grocery Shopping Week One
http://carendhall.blogspot.com/2015/01/no-grocery-shopping-week-one.html
It's about the journey. Sunday, January 11, 2015. No Grocery Shopping Week One. This week has been a blast! It's good with everything! Ok, maybe no cauliflower, but most breakfasty foods. This week one of my big projects was to organize and inventory my pantry. I actually have a lot more food than I thought. So here's the deal. I am swimming. My favorite breakfast. Do any of you happen to have good recipes that use oats? Feel free to share. So, the challenge this week: oats. View my complete profile.
