A Blog for Students and Staff in Composition at Monash. CLAUDE DEBUSSY Footsteps in the Snow. June 12, 2011. Debussy: La Mer (3rd Movement) | Monash Composers
https://monashcomposers.wordpress.com/2011/08/15/debussy-la-mer-3rd-movement
A Blog for Students and Staff in Composition at Monash. Bartok: Concerto for Orchestra (5th Movement). Debussy: La Mer (3rd Movement). August 15, 2011. Debussy annoys me a bit. One point of interest though was that the trichords used consisted of octaves, 5ths, 4ths, tritones and major seconds through this, Ligeti creates a sound that doesn’t sound triadic, through the elimination of 3rds. Thus he works within the tetrachord, minor third and minor second or that done backwards. You ar...
