We restore old folk songs. Typically a song is given a brand new shiny tune and many of the lyrics are lovingly restored with brand spanking new words. Jim makes his own instruments from restored orange boxes and old string. You have to see this. Steve was restored some time ago but the workmanship is of questionable quality. Dave has made two CD’s, probably more by the time you read this. They are quite good. They will be on sale on this site soon. In eget sapien vitae massa rhoncus lacinia.

The Red Lion Inn, Stone Age, nr. Chesterfield. Absolutely brilliant. Who are these guys? Why are they not on the X-Factor? Well, if you come to see them you will understand why not. This performance contained many songs, some of which you would have vaguely recognised, though not in their entirety. Applauded by a very drunk customer who was trying to escape from his own birthday party. Believe it or not we have been asked back! Chesterfield Folk Club (Nov. 2009). Not enough pictures of Steve?

Dave Bateson was 32 some time ago. Jim Clarke makes his own instruments, and you can tell. Steve Swallow plays the guitar silently, which is a good thing. Dave is startled by a strange creature crawling on his knee. He thinks he’s in Hawaii, but this is Chesterfield! Here we are again. How different can we make these pictures look. It’s three blokes with instruments. Ok? Jim plays his granddads banjo. Jim is the one at the back. Jim tells one of his fishing stories, at least we hope that’s what it is.
