Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. 8220;Nine, are you a good kisser? It was about a month since I’d split up with #182. 184 and I were at QueerMutiny, drinking at a table near the dancefloor. 8220;I don’t know. I mean, people have said so before, but I’ve just been kissing the same person for two years, so I don’t know if that’s affected my technique.” #184 lunged forward and kissed me before I knew what was happening. 8220;You’re all right,” he concluded. 8221; I guess it was me.

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. 86 was this gay boy who I had this total crush on. I mean, okay, I had a crush on #68. But it didn’t really get in the way that much, whereas with #86 I was completely anti-suave and actually quite inappropriate. It was the darnedest thing. There was just something about him. I blithered about him drunkenly to people: I mean, he’s just so fucking real. I could work with this! But I couldn’t really. I kissed him at a party at #84. Leave a Reply Cancel ...

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. Turned up at the Regent looking very eighties and I explained to him that after closing time the two of us were going to head up the Royal Mile and find ourselves a house party to get invited into. It didn’t work, although we met someone or other in the street – a friend of his? Who knows – who had just left a late-night venue, and showed us the mark on their hand to prove they’d paid in. #184 and I shot in to the bar where #110. I passed someone who ...

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. I moped like whoa for a couple of months after #78. Dumped me. This was somewhat ameliorated by going out drinking with friends a lot. I discovered that I wasn’t really a maudlin drunk. When I got wasted I didn’t get sad and cry, instead I had fun and enjoyed the distraction. Eventually, things happened with #81. And with #83, and I don’t remember which was first, I think it was all around the same time. Both turned to me in unison and asked Who’s #83?

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. I’d shown up at a party in Marchmont with #184. Though he subsequently revealed that he had no recollection of the night, due to customary obliteration of self with alcohol. Our host, Gavin, was all out of glasses and handed me a plastic measuring jug so I could embark on my second bottle of wine. I contacted #210 to get her take on what happened next. What do you remember about the night we first met? Oh I may need more details here. 210 and I subseq...

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. 110 couldn’t stand me when she first met me. Me with my green hair and, no, not an entourage, but I knew everybody and I was confident and something about that just grated. At this point, I think it’s important to refer you back to the early years. I don’t know if I can continue living in the same street as this wallpaper, said #110 when she saw our hallway.). She tended to get off with a frankly dubious cast of characters in frankly horrible clubs...

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. Leonard asked, which was encouraging, except there was no way around it. (Please note that although this blog project is taking me a hell of a long time to complete, a follow-up project called Everyone I Ever Made A Failed Pass At would be quite an undertaking also.). So I wound up getting horribly drunk a few nights later with #138. And the fact that it was sent at 5am probably didn’t help. How’s the tour going? Give me a shout nine x. You are commen...

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. And I thought about the Canadian musician: another small part of my history, whose name crops up every so often; we haven’t been in touch for a few years but we could be. I remembered #129. I was kind of checking people out as I walked through the city, not with any real agenda but just for the hell of it. I mean, if the past year-plus is anything to go by then I’m never going to get action in Europe again anyway. By Nine on 28 September 2011. You are...

Everyone I Ever Kissed. Chronicles of the anti-suave. The first time was after we’d gone to see Watercress. At the old Bongo Club. I knew #96 already because we both worked at the microlab, although our shifts never coincided so we’d just met a couple times on work nights out. He was cool, and maybe the only other queer at my work, so we had some solidarity going on. All the same, I remember feeling a little hesitant when I kissed #83. But after the gig #28.
