Teaching Strategies for the 21st Century. Unorthodox, But Effective. You can go your own way, but…. August 11, 2015. There is always one. One student who pushes back against anything new. Another one who just wants to “do school” and get it over with. Still another one who has no interest in my beloved ELA content. Short of calling in my friend’s herding dog, how can I engage those students who want to go their own ways? That could be fun.). Over the next few months I intend to ponder the power of story ...

My Life as an Accidental Artist: August 2015
http://mrsl-dramateach.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. No one can dictate my story but me. Tomorrow begins a new chapter in my own story. Orientation at Georgia State kicks off a new philosophical course of study, and a new teaching position will keep me grounded in reality. I expect to be gleefully busy doing things I love to do: educating, researching, learning, and creating. And I will be telling the story I own. Created with my phone photos from this summer, an Anne Lamott quote from Pinterest, and Pixlr. Sunday, August 02, 2015.

My Life as an Accidental Artist: January 2015
http://mrsl-dramateach.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Walkmyworld on a winter day. Two doors, three views, one world. Saturday, January 03, 2015. I intend, as last year's word stated, to be a better friend, a better wife, and a better human being. All that said, this year really does represent a new identity for myself, and I'm not yet sure what that looks like. I don't know, since that teaching position still eludes me. Grandparent? I can't even imagine, especially since Daughter #1 lives five hours away. Friend?

http://mrsl-dramateach.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 07, 2015. With my schedule, art has taken a back seat. This morning, mostly caught up on school and related activities, I chose to spend a couple of hours playing in Photoshop Elements. I took the pictures last weekend up at Amicalola Falls and played with them a little- basic editing- but I wanted to have some fun today. Here are my favorites:. Most of the editing is my own manipulations, but I did play around with some actions by Greater Than Gatsby's. Tuesday, February 03, 2015.
