We are WILD about Writing and Science! Thursday, June 9, 2011. These are some pictures from our end-of-the-year celebration. All week, we've been talking about the state of Hawaii. Today, we enjoyed a Hawaiian "luau".Mrs. McAllister made lots of traditional Hawaiian food, then we did the limbo. One of the highlights of the party was the hula competition. It was boys against girls and Mrs. Vann declared the boys as the WINNERS! What a great day! Have a great summer! Posted by Kara Permuy.

We are WILD about Writing and Science! Tuesday, May 10, 2011. We have a SPELLING test on Thursday, May 12. The activities will be due on Thursday, as well. Our RESPONSE TO LITERATURE is due on Monday, May 16. (Yellow Checklist). The quiz on our SCIENCE vocabulary ("Ecosystems" and "Changes in Ecosystems") will be on Wednesday, May 18. Play Day is Friday, May 13. Wear your team color! Progress reports go home tomorrow, May 12. Our field trip to the Kingsley Plantation will be on Monday, May 23.

We are WILD about Writing and Science! Thursday, April 7, 2011. We have been working on the Narrative Procedure genre (our "how-to's"). Look for information in your child's planner/take-home folder regarding the next assignment. (The final "how-to" with rough draft and checklist attached is due April 27.). We're learning about plant reproduction. This week we've been talking about pollinators like bees, bats and the wind. Each student also made a diagram of the 4 main parts of a plant.
