Are we just going to sweat it out. So I had one of the shittiest meetings of my career so far today, and by the time I came out it was 7pm. After doing the debrief with my boss, it was nigh 7.30. I couldn't take it, so I said f*ck it, and I went to run. Otherwise, a little piece of Immi to end the day. How do we carry on?

I am really uneasy with the decision my boss made for a patient today. 1- Because there have been scant medical investigations done prior to diagnosis. 2- Because the patients behaviour was unconductive to more invasive investigation. 3- Because the decision- I feel- has been pushed by nursing staff. Friday, March 25, 2016. I'm up and it's 12:33am. I am sad. The kind of sad that eats away at the back of your mouth and into your eyes. I feel if I could draw a cartoon of me it would be a shadow engulfed by a dark cloud, with an invisible shield keeping people from me. Does this sadness stem from an event? It was always there. Just now it's here, and hungry. I feed it everything now. My inadequacies and fears. How did I get here, in this cloud? I want to run away, start afresh, see the sun. Fits in a box.

Thursday, April 23, 2009. This made me smile- the kind of smile that reoccurs suddenly because of it's ridiculusness. P: a 79year old (but looks like he's 90), with an english-London accent, ex-graphic designer, patient at hospital with many MANY health issues. Me: Not-yet-30 yrs old, doctor. So the conversation went something like this. Me: So what do you think of going home after dialysis on Friday? P:Oh no, I couldn't possibly. It takes a lot out of me you know. I'm not 18 any more. Me: Neither am I!

Take having the "you're taking too much pain medication" talk. Patients have spent the past 3-4 weeks taking pretty hard core pain medication after surgery.
