As a Lieutenant from March 1996 through March 1999 he served as an Infantry Platoon Leader and Battalion Logistics Officer in the 1st Battalion 27th Infantry, at Schofield Barracks, HI. He was responsible for the training and employment of all men and systems in a 34 man platoon and subsequently all budgeting, logistics and transportation requirements for the 520 man battalion.
