Stuff I’ve written – The Muddled Manuscript

http://muddledmanuscript.co.uk/stuff-ive-written

What I’m Writing Linky. Stuff I’ve written. Stuff I’ve written. I decided, in 2000, to begin my first novel. Alias is a story about a dual identity, a crime which wasn’t committed and the brutal kidnapping and torture of Deanna and her own struggle against her insanity and Stockholm Syndrome. The writing of this book co-incided with the writing of my second novel, as yet unnamed romance featuring a teenager and her childish infatuation with her teacher. These two combined took me ten years. This was very...

What I’m writing – week #36 – The Muddled Manuscript

http://muddledmanuscript.co.uk/what-im-writing-week-36

What I’m Writing Linky. Stuff I’ve written. What I’m writing – week #36. June 2, 2015. June 1, 2015. This week has been full of joy; especially with half term and holidays and about an hour of sunshine. Sigh. Still, we can always write through the grey days. This is a place to link up blog posts about what you’re writing, be it your blog, a journal, a novel… anything you have been writing (the clue is in the name! Then we will RT. It’s time to share your week of writing woes (and joys, of course). What I...

Novel writing – The Muddled Manuscript

http://muddledmanuscript.co.uk/category/novel-writing

What I’m Writing Linky. Stuff I’ve written. February 6, 2016. No one deserves to feel this way…. This is one of my favourite excerpts from something I wrote a few years ago. ‘Hi, I’m Dr Wandsworth.’ She says as I walk with her down the corridor to her room. ‘What can I do for you today? 8217; ‘I don’t think I’m normal.’ I say. ‘How? 8217; ‘As a solution? 8217; ‘About twenty four hours.’ She hisses through her teeth. ‘And what stopped you? 8217; ‘What are they? 8217; I ask her. ‘No, not today&#4...8217; &...

What I’m Writing Linky. Stuff I’ve written. September 8, 2016. September 8, 2016. What I’m writing – Trying to make a change. It was definitely an interesting summer. I wouldn’t say good as such. Nothing got written, words were not forthcoming. Life just carried on without a thought about being an author, or a writer, or anything much really. It just kind of carried on. In the middle of August, our big ginger tom (called Thomas) got […]. August 3, 2016. July 10, 2016. When you’re all fucking crazy. I&#82...

What I’m writing – week #18 – The Muddled Manuscript

http://muddledmanuscript.co.uk/what-im-writing-week-18

What I’m Writing Linky. Stuff I’ve written. What I’m writing – week #18. January 20, 2015. January 19, 2015. This last week has been consumed by some sort of time-eating ether. I imagine you’ve been producing (more) great works and editing and all the wonderful things you manage to do despite the odds, while I’ve been trying to hold onto my hat in the winds of time. Ah, romanticism at its finest. Enough of my chatter. Here’s the copy and paste bit:. Then we will RT. Posted in what I'm writing. 2 thoughts...

I’ve moved! | Kristina writes

Sometimes it doesn’t come easy. Link that link →. August 10, 2014. Ok, I’ve finally done it. Bitten that bullet and moved all the content from this blog over to Muddled Manuscript. It seemed silly to have domain doing very little over there and blogging in multiple places was messy. This blog won’t be going anywhere, but new content will be going on Muddled Manuscript, so if you want to keep reading, hop on over. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Pondering, parenting, poetry and prose. What I’m Writing Linky. The things they say #8 – unnameable pouches. It’s been a really full-on couple of weeks what with it being the easter holidays and the fact that I’ve still been trying to work (ok, only one day but still… ), and write and blog and do my illustration course… and then of course there was the post that went huge. And got me into many an inspiring Twitter conversation about education. 8221; he said gleefully “It look like a crusty bum! He’...

Pondering, parenting, poetry and prose. What I’m Writing Linky. Waaaaay back in 2010/11 I had another blog. It was part of a babywares business. I ran with my husband and when the business closed the blog went with it. We kept the blog posts on a computer somewhere though because we had mostly written about our kids and wanted to keep those memories. My oldest two back in 2011. I think they’re looking at insects (not much has changed, then… ). Who had he seen, you might wonder? Oh no No one like that.

The power of the narcissist | Sophie is…

https://sophieis.com/2015/06/30/the-power-of-the-narcissist

On a journey of (re)discovery in a brave new world. Refugees and the Media. While I’m Alone. The power of the narcissist. I’ve been grappling with a bit of a dilemma in the last few weeks. A figure from my past, who I worked hard to forget, has reappeared in a very public forum. He has been tasked by the government with a position of great responsibility, and that rankles with me. Because the person I knew ten years ago was far from deserving of such acclaim. It has got me thinking, though, about how str...

Binxyboo: Selfishness vs. selflessness

https://binxyboo.blogspot.com/2016/08/selfishness-vs-selflessness.html

Monday, 8 August 2016. Selfishness vs. selflessness. I wonder what motivates people to think only of themselves? The selfish person is by definition someone who acts according to ones own interests and needs without regard for others. It must be a very sad soul to go through life only ever giving thought to one’s own little world. Sometimes we give excuses of being too busy or too tired but in fact what we are saying to the world is. 8220;I am more important than you”. By Nathaniel Hawthorne . Elliston a...

Reading old books – Emily Organ

http://emilyorgan.co.uk/reading-old-books

Get a free copy of Runaway Girl. On June 2, 2015. I’ve got about thirty leather-bound classics which my Grandpa collected in the 1960s, I think it was a book club he subscribed too. There are some good ones in there including Hans Andersen’s fairy tales as they were originally written. I have a lot of old books of poems which I got in my A Level English Literature days. This one is the complete works of Wordsworth, the pages are so thin and fine I’m amazed it’s lasting. I can imagine I’ll always ha...

Pondering, parenting, poetry and prose. What I’m Writing Linky. I’ve always enjoyed pumpkin carving – I used to do it as a child and loved that moment when the candles were lit, the lights went out and your artwork came to life! My sons now love making them too. The first year we tried them we cut the classic grinning faces but then a couple of years ago I bought a pumpkin carving kit from the supermarket (it came with special little tools and a booklet of designs) and we’ve never looked back. Is This the Right Blog for You? Friday, February 26, 2016. I Get Called a Bastard. The irony is, however, that a few days later I received an email from someone who told me what an awful mother I am, specifically pointing out the hateful way my boys sometimes talk to me, although, the emailer conceded, they had never done the same to him/her. Not surprisingly, there is a bigger story surrounding this message. It may surprise my emailer, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. And yet at home? Because when ...

Cutting back drastically on my calorie intake has affected my energy and caused numerous headaches. Last night as I lay there, I thought how I could easily eradicate my headache; I could drag myself off the couch, stagger down to the kitchen, and get something to eat. It was that convenient for me. Convenience is something I realized the last few days, while eating my rice and beans.
