Muddled meditations from me. Goodbye, Old Friend. This entry was posted on May 24, 2011. Bookmark the permalink. As we were getting our house ready to put on the market, we got rid of a lot of stuff. This feels so good to me. Having gone through this process made realize how much “stuff” we have and don’t need. Not one for sentiment, I found it easy to toss or donate most everything but this…. Old Faithful, our dishwasher. We’ve come to the end. A gift you were, from my dear loving sister. Address never ...

The writing, the reflecting, has all been good. Therapeutic. A voice you want to recall. A smell. A feel. So much to remember and continually process. This is my story. Sharing it, even if to just a tired old blog, feels right. And their Maternal Health Center, Father Rick Frechette and the St. Luke Foundation. One we learned of through a close friend.

As we pulled up to our first stop, we were surrounded by children yelling, Hey you! Yet these warning were in vain. That’s the only water they have to swim in. That’s the only way they know to get attention. There are no shoes to protect their feet. This is their reality. The biggest heartbreak was when a mother holding her baby girl kept motioning to me. Manman?

Strangers on a Plane. View my complete profile. Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Strangers on a Plane. I mean, call me naive, but I didn't know that whomever likes to blow up airplanes sought out the most gigantic passenger they could find to stash bombs, etc. Hey, you fatty.I have a bag of Big Macs in it for you if you let me tape this device between your rolls of back fat,". Friday, March 15, 2013. Right after I posted my last blog a month ago Henri was sick for a week, then I was sick with the genuine Influenza for almost two weeks. In that time we also had four snow days! I always love a good snow day. It took us a while after all that to feel back to normal. For me, for us, it feels worth the struggle to figure it out. To keep trying, sometimes poorly, sometimes with a successful balance, to live a part of our life outside of ourselves. Posted by Anna Casey. We started of...

A year-long adventure: living, learning, and teaching in Tchad. Sunday, July 24, 2011. On Thursday I arrived in the United States. It's bizarre to leave a place behind and arrive seemingly abruptly in a very different place. To make our transition together a little easier, I made up a list of differences that you might observe. Please try to adapt. ;). I will speak to you in an assortment of languages. French. Ngambai. And Frenglish. English is no longer in my repertoire. I will be cold. I will bargain a...
