After picking up our mail in the morning,. We hoisted the dinghy, slipped the mooring line, and headed for Marathon. The wind was as predicted: fairly calm in the morning then building from the east in the afternoon. We had considered staying another day, but the prediction for tomorrow is for heavy winds all day. Saturday, April 7, 2012. Sunday, April 8, 2012 Easter Sunday. We had breakfast with John, Verne and James at Dockside, the marina restaurant. Monday, April 9, 2012.

We are finally underway again. We left down the Gulf Intercoastal, passed the condo again with Irene waving from land (see banner photo) and Anne from her lanai. The route was again beautiful though overcast until Venice where the sun was warm and bright and many enjoyed the beaches. Ken is dealing with some family issues and couldn’t enjoy the trip as much as he would have liked. Outside to Useppa Island. Saturday, March 10, 2012. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. We cruised to the north end of Pine Island Sound and anchored just east of. We dinghied around Useppa Island to Cabbage Key for lunch. Useppa Island and Cabbage Key. Monday, February 27, 2012. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. We remained at anchor off Useppa Island. Ken repaired two additional leaks in the domestic water system. Linda washed and water-proofed the Bimini. We hung out and read in this beautiful anchorage, and planned our voyage for tomorrow - Punta Gorda.

We celebrated our light-hearted mood by a casual dinner at Joe’s Crab House next door, which has a extensive 8 page menu of crab cooked different ways, a more extensive selection of tee shirts for sale with every cute phrase that you can imagine, and a wait staff what is inclined to dance to every tune and gather and sing happy birthday to appropriate diners. Today’s passage (our heading was generally south-southeast) was a little lumpy, but not uncomfortable, with winds from west-northwest at 14, nearly directly abeam. Thank goodness for stabilizers. We finally arrived, tied up at The Boat Club, and had dinner with Linda’s sister, Judy, at Blue Provence, a restaurant near the marina that Judy’s always wanted to go to. Good food, especially Judy’s chicken tagine, but pricey menu. Nice walk around the City Dock area afterwards. Sunday, April 1, 2012.
