Wednesday, December 30, 2009. Local Beer Field Trip: Wachusett Brewery. It being a Wednesday of Vacation week, I decided to take a short drive to Wachusett Brewery. In Westminster. Saturday, November 28, 2009. Thoughts on Dark Days. I have spent a fair amount of time thinking about the Dark Days Challenge. That is posted on (not so) Urban Hennery. Use local ingredients as the primary ingredients in 2 - 3 meals every week (until they run out). Also, next summer I will definitely do a better job preserving so I can participate in the 4th anual challenge, but this is the most practical way for me to proceed. I'll keep you posted. Thursday, July 23, 2009. Local Food Field Trip: Berries and Blooms. Today, I took the boys to Berries and Bloom to go blueberry picking. (31 South Road, Holden (508) 829-5494). This is a little Ma and Pa place that sells some garden vegetables, blueberries and raspberries, but mainly where you can pick your own blueberries and cut your own annual flowers. Saturday, March 22, 2014. A peacoat is a great grab-and-go item for cooler weather. I love anything that can single-handedly transform a tee-jeans-boots ensemble with no effort. They are perfectly between a jacket and a full-sized coat. One of my favourite coats is a navy peacoat with brass-coloured buttons. It has pockets, a stiff collar that can be put up against the cold wind, and has a little bit of cashmere in the wool fabric to make it soft, warm and light to wear. A one-piece makes my one hundred.
