Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. Paris, Paris, Paris. What a lovely day yesterday! Since I don't have a working alarm, I borrowed one to get up earlier in the morning. I didn't end up needing it, though, because I always wake up before my alarm, no matter what time it's set for. So I woke up at 5am and got ready to go. Julien took me to the bus stop around 6:15 so from 6:25 until 7, I was sitting outside. So we went back to the apartment then went to have some lunc...

Hannah en Normandie: Leaving.
http://hannahennormandie.blogspot.com/2011/08/leaving.html
Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. These last couple days have been crazy and so, so fun. I think I made more friends in Switzerland this weekend than I did in all the 2.5 months before in Normandie. When I get home - this evening! I will have to probably write several posts to cover the last few days. I'm sitting at my gate and it's 9h43 am. My plane starts boarding at 9h50. North America, I'm coming home! Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. I'm tired and don't want to write again. Yesterday for dessert for the boys after lunch, I had a great idea. S'mores à la francaise. Yes - 2 biscuits (they taste like butter cookies), with a thin layer of nutella, on each, with a slightly-zapped marshmallow squished between. Frozen. GENIUS. Go try it. Reading Ezekiel and learning about God's patience (so much! With our rebellion and sin, and his jealousy for the honor of his name.

Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. Let's go out with a bang. My last day in normandie. So, so, not ready to leave. But what a great last day! Went to the boulangerie, since i can't do that in naperville. At 10, mathilde picked up julie and estelle and i. we went to deauville. We walked around the city a bit. saw this hotel where famous people stay. If you've heard of deauville before, it's probably because of these famous people. there's an american film festival.

Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. Gotta get down on friday - fun fun fun! The first most of the day was uneventfully normal. My chore today was to help the little ones pick up their room, but it already was clean. It was a really nice day again, so I got to spend MORE time outside in the sun! For a band called Cryingstone. On our way back we drove through a wonderful-looking village called Villequier. Then we stopped at a "bar" (we'd call it a cafe) in Caudebec-en-C...

Hannah en Normandie: ok, so...
http://hannahennormandie.blogspot.com/2011/08/ok-so.html
Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. Today we went to Le Havre, one of Normandy's big cities, since I hadn't seen it yet. It's set to become Europe's largest port within the next few years! This summer has been relaxing, which has been great considering how stressful and all-together nasty the last 2 terms of school were, but it has also been boring (and challenging.) enough to make me completely ready to start a new year of school! Hannah en Normandie: It's Sunday.
http://hannahennormandie.blogspot.com/2011/08/its-sunday.html
Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. It's my last weekend in Normandie! Weird We're leaving Thursday for Switzerland, then Sunday I take the train from Lausanne to Paris before flying out Monday morning. France has the weirdest and most unlikely balance between Catholicism and secularism! So anyways, we stopped in the next town, Cormeilles. Those of you familiar with my last trip to France may be interested to know that Cormeilles is the site of the largest distillery ...

Hannah en normandie: an account of hannah's summer as a nanny in france. Neighboring town, bigger) for a bit this morning, then headed to some friends' house in Saint-Maclou. Super exhausted from chasing like 8 kids all day, but before I go to bed, a couple of observations:. 1 There are SO many people wearing chucks. Even (or especially. 3 Milk comes in these 6 packs. You don't refrigerate it until it's open! 5 At the houses I've been to, they only drink instant coffee. WEIRD. I miss my family too much!
