I WANT you to say NO! Recently, I was meeting with a group of teachers a few days after our district-wide introduction to standards based grading and reporting [SBG] by Dr. Thomas Guskey. One teacher was brave enough to say, 'I feel like that was a really good infomercial, but how does it actually change how I teach and grade? That question spawned a rich conversation that helped clarify how SBG changes practice and why we are doing the curricular work we are doing. I don't get it. It was brilliant.
