Joining the Northfield Neighborhood Association (NNA) lets you vote on issues that come before the NNA and contribute to neighborhood improvements, projects and social events that build our community. The neighborhood is bound by Koenig Lane, Airport Blvd., 51st Street, and Lamar Blvd. Membership is $5 each, paid annually. Eligibility: Who Can Join? Every resident who lives within the neighborhood boundaries. One vote per resident membership. To join the NNA, you can. Attend one of our monthly meetings.

NNA meetings are normally held the 1st Monday of each month at 7pm at the Dayspring Chapel, NW corner of Ave. G and 55th, unless otherwise noted.). Members may submit a request to add an item to the meeting agenda by contacting the president through our feedback page. Remnants of Tenements and Shacks. By the time Mueller was closed in 1999, full-sized jets were landing or taking off up to ten times an hour from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm every day. The noise from the jets made Northfield a fairly undesirable neighborhood for more affluent Austinites. Even with its ideal geographic location just 3 miles from U.T. and 5 miles from the heart of downtown, much of the flightpath neighborhood was shunned by home-buyers. The triangle at Bruning, Evans and 52 is now officially named Bruning Green, having been developed by the NNA and the North Loop Planning Team. The Green now has a pathway, made from decomposed granite and steel edging. The big feature is the limestone block seating walls along the path. Contact Cindy Black (Keeper of the Green).
