Thom Rainer is the President and CEO of LifeWay Christian Resources. August 10, 2015. Seven Steps Churches Are Taking to Replace the Stand-and-Greet Time. I would have never expected the response to a topic that seemed so innocuous. On this blog many people were very vocal that they really didn’t like the stand-and-greet time during the worship services. To be fair, there were some defenders of this practice. I was able to segment the hundreds of responses into three groups. The rest of the church members.

Think Again: "Biblical"
http://jasonlhart.blogspot.com/2013/11/biblical.html
Monday, November 4, 2013. Hey Johnathon, Brad, Joel, and otherwise concerned or non-concerned parties,. There were parts of Miller's blog that really resonated with me - and parts that didn't. I think that a frustration with people misusing and abusing the Scripture is at the heart of what Miller is saying. That resonates with me - people try to make the Bible do all kinds of crazy things. However, just because you can't make the Bible say everything. Doesn't mean you can't make the Bible say anything.

Service, Family & Faith: October 2014
http://pastorjep.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Service, Family and Faith. Husband, Father, Pastor, Short Guy. Friday, October 17, 2014. Hammers, Focus, and Impact. What sort of impact are you making? Have you ever used a hammer? I mean a big, heavy, power driving hammer? Yeah, real life doesn't work like that. 8230; until it hit my thumb. 8221; The problem was the hammer only did what I had directed it to do. The problem wasn't with the hammer – it was with me. Specifically it was with my focus. I had lost focus on what I was doing&...Till next time,.

That is what I hope to do with this blog. I hope to reflect Him, in some small way get you thinking more about Him and pray you see His presence around you. I hav...

Service, Family & Faith: Walking In the Light and Seeing The Truth
http://pastorjep.blogspot.com/2015/01/walking-in-light-and-seeing-truth.html
Service, Family and Faith. Husband, Father, Pastor, Short Guy. Friday, January 16, 2015. Walking In the Light and Seeing The Truth. This past Sunday I shared the following story:. I used this story to illustrate how so very often sickness doesn't look like sickness, and the sin in our life doesn't always look like sin. It is easy for us to look around and even at ourselves and not see. The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother. Is in the darkness until now. The one who loves his brother.

Service, Family & Faith: Baptism As a Lifelong Commitment
http://pastorjep.blogspot.com/2014/10/baptism-as-lifelong-commitment.html
Service, Family and Faith. Husband, Father, Pastor, Short Guy. Thursday, October 9, 2014. Baptism As a Lifelong Commitment. I always enjoy the preparation that goes into corporate worship, but I especially love preparing for a baptism service. While some view baptism as a meaningless ritual – some atheist groups even hold a de-baptism where they “dry” you with hair dryers – I view it as a both a wonderful symbol and a sacred command from Christ Himself. 8221; And Jesus responded, “Simon son of Jona...
