Railway Modelling: June 2015
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Thursday, 25 June 2015. Tuesday, 23 June 2015. Building an extension to the layout. The scenic views at the back of the layout will have to be changed and there may well be a tunnel and a bridge on the extension piece. I bought a girder bridge from EHattons at the weekend and it came with one piece missing (the bag had split open) but they sent that part in the post today so I can now construct this bridge. Monday, 15 June 2015. Next step wi...

Railway Modelling: February 2014
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Saturday, 22 February 2014. As I am trying to move house I thought I'd list the good and bad points on my current layout in the hope of eliminating the bad ones on my next model. Good points on the current model. 8226; Plenty of lines to run trains on. 8226; Continuous run for two trains at once, (or three with care). 8226; Manual control of some points by wire to front of layout (Saves buying and fitting point motors).

Railway Modelling: Help - what next
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2015/08/help-what-next.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Tuesday, 11 August 2015. Help - what next. The more I look at the layout the more I realise I'm not making best use of the extra space available, so I am currently looking at alternative track plans which I could use without too much disruption in changing the layout. One plan involves an incline, so I am trying to construct one to see if locos will pull a load up it, or if it is too steep. Watch this space. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Railway Modelling: August 2015
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Monday, 24 August 2015. More new track - Part 2. Continuing with the line at the back of the layout, the video shows how I am testing it as I build it up. To see the video. Sunday, 23 August 2015. I have a plan to make level crossing look more realistic which I will reveal later. One of the Points is on the edge of the board so it will need a surface mounted point motor which I will hide in a lineside hut. Friday, 21 August 2015. The more I ...

Railway Modelling: Work in progress
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2015/06/work-in-progress.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Sunday, 14 June 2015. A bit more stuff has been unpacked and I have started work on the extension section where there will be some storage sidings and hopefully a turning area for locos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Building an extension to the layout. A few locos appear. Adding a few buildings. A small step forward. Step 2 - stand the existing baseboard up. Step 1 - repaint the room. New house, new beginning. Bobs Steam Train Web Page.

An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Monday, 15 June 2015. A few locos appear. Unpacked a few locos, and gave then a test run round the existing track, all except one seem to work ok at the moment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Building an extension to the layout. Railway Modelling: A small step forward
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-small-step-forward.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Wednesday, 10 June 2015. A small step forward. While opening boxes I found the controller and a loco, so 'Mallard' had a quick run round the track, and survived the trip without falling off or stopping, except at the platform. Railway Modelling: March 2012
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Monday, 5 March 2012. Putting the layout away. In order to put the layout away, folded up against the wall, anything tall has to be removed. Anything that is low enough to remain on the layout is now glued on so it can be left there when the layout folds away. The pictures below show the layout ready for folding up against the wall. Labels: 00 Gauge model railway. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Putting the layout away. Bobs Steam Train Web Page.

Railway Modelling: January 2013
http://oldwulf-railwaymodelling.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
An ongoing story of my first attempts to build a model railway. Friday, 11 January 2013. Christmas 2012 and Warley Exhibition. Here is the Fairburn Tank on my Layout at home, apologies for the dodgy picture quality, I'm still learning how to use the new camera. Much searching on the internet finally revealed that The Model Railway Loft. I have extended my storage shelf slightly so I can keep this model on the shelf in my Study when the railway is away.
