Http:/ www.ontarioparks.ca. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Bass Lake Provincial Park. Bass Lake Provincial Park - August 13-17, 2012. This is an ok park located just west of Orillia and on Bass Lake. There are three campground areas - Lakeview, Hilltop and Eastside. There is a lovely beach area with a small playground. Unfortunately these are located down a hilly area and hence we drove. We were camped in Eastside. Our site was # 33 and other than being quite shady, it was fine. 8,10 - both very shady.

Here is a summary of the best sites in the pull-through section -. 30, 49, 35, 41(needs a little leveling), 43, 52 (this was our firepit for the group because it was the only only where we could sit all the way around), 53(needs leveling), 54(needs leveling), 56. Here is a summary of the best back-in sites -. If you want sunny sites, then try 31, 33, 39, 51, 53, 54. Avoid site 37(uneven and on the small side). The variety of bird life is unbelievable!

It was quite large with lots of shade and excellent privacy. About 3 pm on Saturday the skies darkened and then the rain and thunder came. It just poured! Lots of reds and oranges. The weather too was wonderful - warm, sunny days and bug free evenings for around the campfires. The electrical loop at Canisbay takes in sites 176 - 232.
